I'm a fairly new resident at Jefferson Ridge. I'm already finding problems with management. Here's what happened this month:

I paid my rent 30 minutes late. Management gave me a notice to pay $871.13 extra or be evicted.

I believe this is a complete rip-off. OK, I paid my rent at 8:45AM on April 3rd, on my way to work. It was due by the time the staff arrived on the 3rd, which was about 8:30AM. Maybe a $25 or even $50 late fee could be reasonable. But they are asking for $871.13 plus $10 more dollars each day and have waived my "move-in special", requiring me to pay an extra $70 per month. If I don't pay the $871.13 and submit to their terms they will file for eviction and according to the lease terms, could enter my apartment at any time and claim possesion of my things.

All this over paying rent a few minutes late. This management company is trying to get money out of residents in any new creative yet legal ways possible. It almost seems like a scam. At the very least it is a poor way to treat residents.

So go ahead and sign a lease here. Pay your rent one hour late, one time, and they will screw you over for mega $$$.

Followup post to my previous review: I resisted the extra charges and called the parent company, Trimarchi Management. After a bit of an argument over this, they decided not to pursue the absurd late charges. Instead they charged me $50 late fee, which is high but I agreed to it. Since that time they have been much more reasonable and I am moderately happy with my apartment. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't move here but I signed a one-year lease. I'll honor that lease and then buy a house or move over to Valley Ranch.
