I have lived in this community for quite some time. I only stay because it is a pain in the ass to move, and I'm close to purchasing a house. This community is UNSAFE & UNSANITARY & UNPROFESSIONAL... NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.
If you want to take the time to read....
Before Oaks Properties took over, the management office staff was AWESOME, maintenance never slacked on repairs, and overall the community was very quiet and felt very safe. It's not all Oaks fault,
Over the last year (maybe year & 1/2), they have allowed several undesirable people move in. Lots of people with loud cars, I see a lot more dogs and no one picks up their poop. The couple in the next building let their small dogs poop on the sidewalk. The management office will send out letters, but they do not enforce it. They will however enforce one leaving their car by the curb for 30 seconds to check their mail...hmmm...what is more disgusting and unsanitary....leaving your car for no more than two minutes or letting all of the residents dogs ---- on the sidewalks, stairwells, and grass.
The gates are always broken. They leave them open all the time so everyone can drive through. Several cars have been stolen in the last year. One morning I counted ten busted out car windows. My friends' car was broken into several times over the course of 5 weeks.
The management office uses "Routine maintenance" as an excuse to enter the apartments to check for pet violations. It makes me nervouse that they go walking through your apartment anytime they please. I always hide my valuables because two of my anniversary rings have disappeared after leaving them on my ring holder on my dresser. I came home one day to find my apartment had been left unlocked and the alarm was unset because they let Fed Ex in to leave a package inside my door. One day I came home to also find the alarm had been undone but they relocked the door so I thought I had simply left the alarm off. Then I noticed something had been shattered. They tried to acuse me of having a pet who might have broken it, but I don't have a pet and no one else has a key to my apartment except management/ maintenance.
They also do not consider it an emergency when your AC is broken in July or August and will tell you so. They will leave it broken for a week or more because they refuse to change the unit and cannot figure out what is wrong with it. They so called "emergency line" is a joke. You can't hear the other person on the end, when you can get through she is extremely rude and will hang up on you. They reassign your dedicated covered parking space to other people because they are so disorganized.
The girls currently working in the office are very unprofessional. One can tell they are inexperienced. They tend to be standoffish and rude. Everyone in the office, including management, is very....let's just say...unpolished. Which is very unfortunate because this could be an upscale community as it was at one time.
