I have to write and say leaving the Oaks was the best decision my husband and I made. First, I will say that June is a super person who will bend over backward to help someone, and for that I thank her. Second, let me tell you what happened while I was there. I am highly allergic to cats but I don't hate them, I love that people love them and care for them...but i don't feel that I have to share their cats. Our next door neighbor took to feeding stray cats by placing cat food out for cats...so sure enough the strays and others came. I would have to listen to howling cats under my window (bottom floor apt) at night (that is the creepiest noise ever! I would have to walk by 2 or 3 cats to get into my door..so when I would see the bowl out in our shared walk way I would kick it into the bush near by and let the cats eat in there. My neighbor continued to place the bowl of food out attracting cats, dogs, and bugs..so when I see it I kick it back in the bush. I complained numerous times to the staff, in which I was told that a sterm letter would be placed on all our doors as not to single out anyone. That happened once and the food continued to be placed outside. Then after the 3rd or 4th complaint to the office, a staff member told me that the resident was trying to catch a stray cat. I wondered which cat it was, because the cats the congregated all seem to chill and never ran away when I was going to my door. This perplexed me. Then one day I came home and found an angry, threatening letter from my neighbor about the bowl of cat food being kicked and how her money was going to waste because of me (ah, lady read the lease, what you were doing was against policy)...anyway, I didn't want to stir the neighbor up, so I went to the office with the letter and request a copy be made in case Catwoman from next door did something to my car, apt, etc. I was very upset that I had to live like that. That is when I found out that the "Stray Cat" actually belonged to a staff member and Catwoman was suppose to be catching it for her. I was aghast that all my complaining was for nought, because the culprit was the person I was making the compliments to. I understood why this was not being taken care of as promised. I was amazed that they (staff) allowed this to go on for two or three months, knowing all along who's cat it was. I never complained when the other side neighbor cat would love to come into our patio and destroy our plants, didn't complain when I had cat paw marks on our car windows, hey cats will be cats...its the owners who are inconsiderate and think that others should love their cats too. I should of got a big dog and the problem would of ended for sure.
