Average Place to Live, High Electric and Water

My family and I moved to the Oaks of Valley Ranch from another state; we've currently rented here for about 1 year. During our stay, the only major problems or concerns hasn't been with the property itself, but more with the bills, dog owner and outside noise.
Although many of the neighbors keeps to themselves, many of the neighors don't pick up after their dog. Therefore you are subject to stepping into dog mess. Another concern is with the electric and water bill.
For starter... the electric seems very high, for example one month it was $300 (during the spring), the next month it was $45 (during the same season). They also have you sign a contract with that electric company, which leaves you no re-course in changing electric companies in the future. The water bills runs between $58-$63 per month, ever when you are not using the property.
Don't move into a unit facing Valley Ranch Parkway, the traffic is heavy and it's very hard to sleep unless you're drunk.
So in closing, it not bad... just pick the best unit away from Valley Ranch Parkway, check your water bill and electric bill regular and watch for dog mess in the grass.
