I have been living in Oaks of Valley Ranch for more than 2 years now. It is the best apartment I have lived in, so far. I have been living in apartments for about 6 years now and this is the best apartment of them all.

The good things:

1)The floorplans are awesome. I would say they have some of the best floorplans in the whole of Irving, Las Colinas, Valley Ranch. Even when compared to the fancy high-rises in Las Colinas and some upscale apartments in the area. If you are claustrophobic, and need a spacious feel, and you don't want to spend $1000 or more per month for a spacious 1 bedroom, Oaks of Valley Ranch is the place to go.

2)Floorplans at Oaks of Valley Ranch have the best/most closet space of all the apartments in the entire area.

3)Very, very safe place to live.

4)Great community, decent residents.

5)Wonderful staff. Extremely helpful. They've been quick, prompt, efficient and also friendly. Being in real estate I just want to see other floor plans to get an idea occassionally, and they've never hesitated to show me the other floorplans, even when they knew I was not going to lease. Brittany takes great care of residents, she is simply awesome, Zack is super-friendly, prompt(and funny) and returns calls when he says he will if he has to check something and get back. I haven't had a chance to know Kelly Word very well since she is new, but I've known her for the past couple of weeks and she has always handled my requests very fast and promptly.

6)All the maintenance requests are handled very fast. Occassionally, if they haven't been handled, I was able to walk into the office and explain my need and the staff took care of it right away, without having me to call maintenance again.

3)Location is great. This has very quick access to 635 by N. MacArthur if going West or there is another road or Valley Ranch Pkwy E., if you are going to 635 East, just a couple minutes would put you on the highway.

4)The only area with lots of mature Oak trees. If you like trees and greenery, these are the apartments you need to live in.

All in all, the best apartments in the area. I wouldn't live elsewhere as long as I am renting. My sister came to live with me, and she too fell in love with my apartment.

The negatives:

Not much if you understand that like all buildings, these buildings undergo occassional maintenance, which might be an inconvenience sometimes, but that can happen anywhere.
