Welcome to the roach motel

I lived in this place for about 8 years, mostly while I was in junior high and high school and it got worse and worsethe whole time. When we first moved in the management was decent and the maintenance was great. Over time the management changed a few times but at one point a manager lived there that was not putting things in the books and was instead pokceting the money for people she rented out to. She eventually got busted but by then the damage was done, she let ANYONE live there and it became one of those crappy places where people sit outside on the stairs, in front of their door or on their - or your - car and drink beers all day and stare at you. You begin to wonder when these idiots go anywhere besides the beer store, but that's another story. One time a guy knocked on my door asking for cocaine. Great neighborhood huh' The maintenance got steadily worse also. One maintenance man was brekaing into people's houses and by the time they got hip to it nothing was done in time to punish him - he ended up skipping town. I know this sounds like a tall tale but believe me - these morons will hire any idiot to work there and rent to any idiot as well. The maintenance that was there when I finally left was at least nice, but not that good, they would come out in a timely fashion but couldn't fix much - for instance they jacked up the tile in the bathroom worse than it was when we originally asked them to come and fix it. Then there was the worst part of it all - you had about a zillion roomates who you didn't want. Yes, ROACHES galore. I mean it was like Joe's Apartment to the 10th power. Pest control almost never came out and when they did they only sprayed a little - no bait. I mean I could turn on the lights in the bathroom in the morning and see like 50 of them things scattering - well half the time they didn't even scatter - they mocked me, they stared at me as I was the one invading their space - maybe I was. We even had rats for about a month until we killed them. That place sucked. If you hate your life then yeah go ahead and move in there, otherwise avoid that dump.
