I have lived in this apartment for over a year, since December 2005. I only renewed my lease because I am getting married in a few months and will be moving out anyways. When I first moved in, they tried to give me an apartment that had disgusting carpet, covered in ants, filthy, and nothing like the model they showed. I refused to take the apartment because it was nothing like the model. They upgraded me to a better apartment, so they said, for the same price. I have had so many problems with this complex since I first moved in. I have logged every issue in an excel sheet, which I recommend if you live here.
I have, on about 30 different occasions (not exaggerating), had ants infest my apartment. This is not a little amount of ants; this is hundreds. They have destroyed so much food. One of the times in particular they destroyed $40 worth of food. Just this morning I woke up to them, again, all over my kitchen and in the brand new cookies I had just made. If you live here you will have to keep EVERYTHING in a plastic bag or ants will get it. Don't let them tell you there are a lot of ants because of the area. My fianc lives 2 blocks away in Jefferson Ridge and has never had one ant in his apartment.
My roof has leaked since I moved in and I have complained every month about it. They finally got it fixed, but it only took them a whole year to do it.
My toilet, garbage disposal, freezer, and plumbing pipes have all broken at some point causing even more problems.
Part of the reason I liked the place is because of the pool area, tanning beds, and exercise room. The hot tub has been broken since June of 2006. At one point we went in it and I found out later that there were loose wires around the light. We could have been electrocuted! The elliptical machine squeaks so loud it hurts your ears to use it. The treadmills are always broken. The tanning beds are never cleaned and the bulbs are so old it is a waste of time.
The area looks very pretty, but beware. I had my car broken into 5 months ago. People have been jumped and mugged in the park. An elderly woman was assaulted in front of my apartment one morning. And the gas station and one of the restaurants up the street was held up. The area is starting to get crime ridden, so don't walk around alone at night.
Overall, my experience at this apartment has been terrible. I thought the low amount of rent would make up for it. I mean you get what you pay for, right' Well, the $150 and more electricity bills make up more for the rent being low. If I could take my decision back I would have never signed a lease.
