Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
We were suckered in by the low rent and the all bills paid. I have never seen the same managers face on a regular basis. So every time there has been an issue with something not working. Ive had to repeat my story numerous times because there is always some one different. We have been here almost 6 months, and have had constant roaches. We have pleaded and begged for an exterminator. They have just now as of last week sent an exterminator to our place. It's horrible here. The cops are up here on a regular basis. I've been approached at least twice as to if I could supply people pot. We had the unique experience of watching a young man be put to his knees at gunpoint by Irving's finest, not even 40 feet away from our apartment. Vehicles get broken into on a regular basis. Our sliding glass door shows evidence of someone previously prying it open.
The management come into your apartment and take your stuff if you are late on rent. Which by the way is illegal as hell.
We have had to fix many, many items ourselves because of the horrid maintance here. It's not one of the guy's fault here, we realy like him, but the management refuses to hire enough staff to fix the falling down ruins of this place. They refuse to buy new material either. The management will tell the maintance guys to go steal it out of another apartment. We had a horrible leak in our kitchen sink. It was soaking under the carpet and spreading to the living room and hallway. It was so bad that I had to put a shower curtain over it because I was tired of water squishing between my toes. It eventually even got so bad that it was somehow comming through the shower curtain and still squishing my feet. It took them about 3 days to fix it with our constant nagging. Eventually we gave up on the management and started budding up with the maintenance man. He had to take his own pipe out of his bathroom to replace ours because the management refused to replace it.
I could go on forever, but we've got to go to church.
My advice--don't walk, run from this horid apartment.
Tip to all of those dealing with this place right now. If there is something that needs to be fixed, you can give 2 verbal warnings and 1 written one. If they do not fix your apartment by then, you legally have the right to hire an outside contractor and have them bill them. Check out the city of Irving web site. It list this citation on there.
