Good From 2003-2005

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
I signed a 13 mos lease in Oct 2003 and signed a 7 mos extension before moving out in June 2005. There was a change in management during my first 13 mos.
Let's start with the positives. Absolutely loved my refrigerator in the smaller 1 bdrm unit, stove had two larger size burners compared to one larger size burner with most apt appliances, very quiet dishwasher, efficient storage space in kitchen area. I miss the kitchen set up the most. Bathroom was set up well with a full size closet, but water pressure was less than I would have liked, but it was a third floor unit as well. Again, particular to the smaller 1 bdrm unit, loved the walk thru closet between bathroom and bedroom. Ceiling fan with light fixture was nice in the bedroom. My unit had the berber carpeting which was also nice. The walls are painted a soft beige color, so it was a welcome from the usual white. Wish the walls would have been thicker...my neighbor on one side sang gospel music at the top of his lungs at any time during the day/night and I could hear regular level conversations thru my bedroom wall coming from the other unit.
Parking was alright, a bit hectic at times. Spaces are wide which is good. I did notice kids coming from other apt complexes walking over to use the basketball court quite often. This seemed to be more apparent beginning in 2004. Pool seemed to be clean and well kept. Exercise area has great weight machines and two TV's. Towards the end of my residency, the treadmills were broken a bit more often. Although, I do recall exercising and other residents would let their 4 year old kids and up "play" on the exercise machines. Ironically, this was always later at night, like 10 pm, don't know why the kids weren't in bed. Maintenance crew was friendly, as I'd see them walking the grounds or in their golf cart. Give them a waive, say hello and you see they are good people.
Overall, if they are offering a good move-in special, take it. I do not feel my 3rd floor unit would have been worth over $800 per month, which was market value.
