The good news... the apartment is quiet.

The bad news... the community is well-known for attaching "damages" after a tenant has departed. In my case, knowing this, I requested a personal inspection by the apartment staff in my presence, so I could correct anything noted as deficient. During the move-out inspection, it was noted by that staff that it appeared I had hardly lived in the apartment. True. Yet, unbelievably, a "carpet damage" charge appeared on the statement I received 2 weeks later. This type of action is consistent, and in my opinion, dishonest.

How much did you get charged?

How bad did you leave it? I've seen some trashed apartments when shopping for this one. Do you have pictures? Or your check in list saying that that is how the carpet was before you moved in? That saved my thousands when I moved here from DC. The community said that my dog chewed up the baseboard and a cabinet. but I noted this info on the check list and sent them photos when I moved in, so they took off all charges, refunded my deposit in full, and apologized a lot.

1. I was charged either $40 or $45... nothing substantial, just an annoyance. 2. As the review noted, I left it such that it appeared it had never been lived in. And on my original "move in" document, I had noted that there was one small carpet seam that was slightly separated, just as it was at "move out." I supplied that info, but to no avail, hence my original statements. In all this, they obviously don't charge enough to make one return to the state and "fight" the charge. But that makes it no less inappropriate. I've lived in over 20 apartments in the past 20 years, and have only paid a cleaning charge once (and that one was indeed deserved). This one was absurd.
