our bad experience started 2 days after we moved in. our air conditioner went out, they wouldn't set up the "free" alarm (not even monitored) that was promised when we moved in, and they weren't fixing the deadbolt on our front door. my husband had to call and threaten to report them to the Texas apartment association b/c they were supposed to have the things involving our safety (deadbolts) fixed w/in 48 hrs. they finally fixed this and turned on the alarm our 4th day in. to "fix" our a/c they removed a part from one of their other old units and replaced the part that brok on ours'. Our first electric bill for 5 days ONLY was $105!! Our electric bills were always extremely high and we were charged $54 a month for water. we live in a house bigger than our apartment and the last two months (aug. and sept. - usually high electric bills) our electic bill has been $50-$75 less. our water was only $24 for each of the last two months and we water our yard every night for 30 minutes on top of doing the normal things - showering, laundry, etc. my husband ended up doing any maint. he could for the things we needed while living on the property because work orders were RARELY completed. the few that were completed were only done so because he called the office EVERY day, sometimes more than once, until they were done. i've lived in some crappy apartments, but this one has topped them all. we don't live there and the bad experience continues even though we've been out of there for over two months...
We moved out July 31st - still have not received our deposit back. My husband left 3 UNRETURNED phone calls at office on property - i left 2 UNRETURNED calls - the office called back on my 3rd message. i left 6 UNRETURNED calls with their corporate office - 3 for one extension ( x 251), 2 with another extension (x 242), and 1 with the receptionist. Once i threatened to report them to the better business bureau and take them to court, i finally got a call back. i was promised that a check would be sent overnight to my house for delivery todayy - i still haven't received it. today i'm really going to report them to the better business bureau, and tomorrow when they open i will be going there to let them know that i'm taking them to small claims court where they can reimburse me for my deposit and court fees. give it a try - call corporate or the office and see if you can get a return call.

My refrigerator went out about a week after I moved in. The microwave was probably over 20 years old. The apartment got even worse. After the new management took over, they stopped accepting packages for tenants, they let tenants leave trash outside overnight, and there were more solicitors leaving hand bills on the door....In my personal opinion, they were very dishonest about the rent.
