Be aware of extra charges

I lived at this apartment complex for over a year, and paid my rent on time, but suddely I recived a note saying that I was delinquent on my payment which I had to pay within 24 hours with a cashier's check or money order only. I went to the office and talked to the person in charge just to find out that there had been some charges that were not made known to a lot of people during contract signing. Basically, the charges were for the amenities including the pool, clubhouse, gym so on and so forth. He blamed that previous management did not do their job right, so he had to come in to clean up the mess. As a result of what he said trying to do things right, my rent went up $17 for the amenities immediately without a new contract. They also blamed previous management crew for not getting the automatic gates installed, but after the new one took over for over 4 months, nothing happened yet. It looks like everyone is trying to jack the price up one way or the other like some airlines trying to charge their passangers for the second checked-in suitcase. What will this apartment do in the future'
