Pros: Gables is a good community if you want low rent, peace and quiet. Basic parking is easy to find (covered parking is another story). Haven't had any trouble with neighbors or crime.
Cons: Appliances and apartments not up to par. Air conditioning unit in my two bedroom apartment wasn't putting out enough air and I called to have it repaired three times. The repair guy was prompt, but they said the compressor is not strong enough so there was nothing that could be done.
Ants are another big problem, but after a year you get used to living with the critters. The gym also sucks, but it works.
Management requires 1 rent check, so if you have roommates you can't pay with separate checks. This can be a bother. They also divide the water and trash cost by the entire complex and it usally runs around $37-40 a month.
Overall: I'd recommend Gables Valley Ranch to anyone looking for a place that is affordable and decent. If you are looking for luxury amenities and convenience -- look elsewhere.
