Don't let them suck you in with one time "specials"

I moved into these apartments last year and have been a punctual paying tenate the whole time. They raised my renewal rent by $50 without even an option to negotiate and the ONLY reason I stayed was because I had a lot going on professionally and didn't have time to move. For the first time, I was accidently 1/2 day late (last Sunday) paying rent and they stuck a $75 late fee on me. Not only are they sticking it to me but they are obnoxiously leaving a late fee notice on my door every 24 hours. Even though I signed the rental agreement that stated the ridiculous $75 late fee I did not know harrassment would be involved while they try to collect. I have informed them of a loud tapping noise that wakes me up every morning...even on the weekends and they have yet to fix it, but when you're late on your rent, they want to bombard you with late notices and hefty fees. I say, save your money and rent somewhere where they actually negotiate renewals and do not totally disregard your maintenance requests and obnoxiously suck all of the money they can out of you.

I can symapathize with you. I had to renew my lease and one lady said they can do a 8 months renewal, as I didn't want to stay more in this apt. But we went to sign the lease the other lady in the office said tey cannot do it!! She was 1st not beleieving that someone in their office would have said that. When we told whom we had talked then she is not ready to accept her words and was trying to say that her words doesn't mean anything. Well we have asked to talk to the manager and see what happens. But we have decided to move of this place once our kid is grown up enough~ in next 6-8 months surely.
