Car break-ins are routine

I really, really like my apartment, the parking garage, the grounds, etc.
However, the security situation has gotten out of control.
Last night, there were at least six car break-ins according to a letter from the management.
All had their windows broken.
This happens on a monthly basis now.
Management just tells tenants, "be vigilant, report suspicious activity," every time this happens.
Hey, managment...how about YOU do something about it.
Install a gate, have somebody watching cameras during the night, etc.
Heck, ask for tenant volunteers to watch cameras, and give a discount on rent for doing so.
I absolutely CANNOT recommend moving here until the security situation dramatically improves.

This is the reason why I'm moving out of this security free apartment. My car was broken into TWICE in the past 2 years that I've lived here. The latest was the last straw. Managment could care less as long as more suckers sign up for an apartment to replace the disgruntled. I hope the car thieves hit one of the managment's car. Maybe that'll finally prompt them to either install a gate, or have working security cameras (and yes those security camera signs are for display purposes only)
