This place has gone to DOGS with the new ownership/ management

Since the ownership and management has taken over last month, this place has gone to DOGS in every respect, a sample of which is listed below:
1) The weekday office hours have been reduced by an hour, i.e. opening at 10 instead of 9. This has reduced services to the tenants, especially because many of the facilities are not accessible outside the office hours.
2) The repair/ maintenance requests do not go through the management; the answering service is ineffective, inefficient, impolite, unresponsive,...
3) The Business and other Services they tout so much about during marketing are NON-EXISTENT:
--the computers are down,
--the printer/ copy machine does not have ANY ( B/W as well as color) ink for the past one week
-- the coffee machine is broken down
-- there has been no sugar for the past one month!
-- these are just a few examples; you are getting the picture... nobody cares and nobody minds the shop...
4) When some of these things are brought to the attention of the Management, they are unresponsive, defensive, unfriendly,...
5) The Managment who are the representative of the ownership gives the impression that this is the new reality that we have to learn to live with from now on
6) My sad conclusion is that the new ownership/ management has not gotten its act together and is more interested in cutting corners and recouping its acquisition costs and increasing its profit than serving the tenants...
7) They are trying to increase the rents for the same reason.
8) As we all know, "one bird at hand is better than two in the bush" and it is much easier and economical to keep what (i.e. tenants) we have than try to get new ones. If the new ownership/ management does not understand and practice this simple principle and is very mayopic, they will "kill the goose that lays the golden eggs" and pay for it in the long run.
9) Be forewarned that I and others do not intend to renew our lease; we are waiting to get out of this place as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for ideas of how we can improve our community. We have started opening the coffee bar at 8 am and do our best to keep it fully stocked. Our business center does get heavy use and we again try our best to keep everything in working order. Our maintenance line was designed to provide superior maintenance customer service 24 hours a day with a live operator to take any service request you may have. If you feel the operator does not provide you with such service please take down their name and report it to the office and we will take care of it. |

The ranking was given poor in all aspects, but how did a new management staff effect the Parking, Noise, Construction, Grounds, or Safety of the area? Also, do you realize that the complaints here are about computers being down, being that they are publicly used computers is it possible that they caught a virus? And if the computers are down, how did they run out of ink? If the coffee machine is broken then why would sugar be needed, not to mention that it is an office, not a coffee shop to hang out in. If maintenance is a problem, then that if valid, but the rest of this sounds like a bitter person with to much time being spent on little issues. By the way, who is the new office staff? |

I have to say that I completly AGREE with fairness5678. When I moved in the above mentioned items were one of the "ammenities" to living here. If they did not want to provide them then they shouldn't have the business center, coffee room, tanning bed, etc. Besides if it was such a great place to live why would you need the extra's????

I'm in the process of trying to decide if I want to renew and I am watching the new management team closely. All the "little things" matter. The lack of attention that has been displayed by the new team is indicative of their disregard for residents. Why haven't they set up a meeting to introduce themselves to residents? We can live anywhere. We choose a complex for the amenities and the services provided by management. When I read that the business center is neglected, I wonder what else is neglected. I rarely use the center and I rarely have a problem but when I do, I want it addressed immediately with courtesy and respect. Otherwise, I will choose another place to live. In apartment living, the "little things" make all the difference.
