I recently (08/01/06) renewed my lease and the rent only went up $45/mo. I have the "most prime" unit in the complex (1st floor by pool w/ view, attached garage, first building inside the gated complex).
The staff has always been very accomodating, and has steadily provided above par service in comparison to every other 'premium' apartment I've ever leased. I have never been treated rudely in any way and requesting maintenance is never a problem. Low-priority requests have been completed (satisfactorily) within 3 business days.
These other "reviewers" probably are NOT telling you the whole story. The cracks in the building are due to shifting foundations that occur EVERYWHERE in Valley Ranch. It's an affect of the local terrain. Granted, parking is hard to find for those w/o garages or covered parking, but new "open" parking was recently added to try and combat these deficiencies. I have been extremely satisfied with my decision to move into and subsequently renew my lease in this great property with excellent location and access.
