Not worth it

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
We lived there in 05 and 06 and were excited to get into something where we felt the rent would not increase so drastically each renewal and was newer...for income guideline it went up 15 dollars we thought that was alot especially considering the rent was almost 600/month for a small 1 bedroom ... the carpet would shred near the entrance all the time...Maintenance was not great at fixing things the first time but eventually they got it right... We hate to say it but the worst thing was the kids...trying to drive to your apartment with all the kids running around, we were always worried we were gonnna hit one of them and they would all glare at you and yell if you went too slow but they never moved until you were on their toes, they would shout things, throw balls over your car and just in general seemed that there was never any adult supervision condsidering they were "playing" in the street, there is a play area but it was always wet or flooded so on one could use it. One of the times a young boy made a nasty remark to my boyfriend and we knew where he lived and went to knock on the door and the boy begged us not to knock because we would wake his mom up and she would get really mad this was at 5 at night, maybe she worked nights. Even leaving in the AM when the kids were waiting for the bus was a scare...they just ran around everywhere and paid no mind that you were trying to leave for work. Adults and kids would sit on our car and our neighbors seemed to not be able to "party" in front of their own house and instead parked their cars in front of our door and threw all their trash in front of our apartment! To say it is ghetto is ridiculous because it is in Katy there was never crime there when we lived there but it was not what we were expecting moving to the suburbs..I will never live in income guideline apartments again...the paperwork is a nightmare and its entirely too many kids for one small complex especially with no safe area to play for them. I will say they had classes for kids which seemed fun for them but kids need to get out and use energy and these apartments did not accomodate them. The gym and laundry were open 24/7 and then it changed and was hard for us to get our laundry done with only 5 washers and limited hours so we ended up driving to a washateria. The office staff was always nice and gave us a full refund on our deposit which seems rare nowadays.
