When we first moved into the complex only 40% of the units were occuppied. There was not alot of noise or disruption, but that soon changed.

The lease that is signed states that parents are required to accompany their children to the pool. Instead, ghetto parents who leave their children home by themsleves all day use the pool as a babysitting tool. These children are without any parental supervision and are completely out of control. The office does nothing about this even though they have recieved numerous complaints from adults who would also like to enjoy the pool they are paying to use.

Drugs are another serious problem here at Aventine. You can walk the grounds anytime from 8:00 pm to 3:00 am and you will find at least a dozen people offering you illegal narcotics. The cops have been called but no eviction notice has been issued to any of these people.

Children are not safe in this community. Many of the small girls are being approached by a man trying to lure them into his apartment. The police have also been called about this incident, but again no eviction notice has been issued.

Trash pickup is a joke here. Many people have to haul off their own trash because you are not allowed to set it curbside the night before, nor are you allowed to set it out before 8:00 am in the morning. For many who have to be at work at that time they face the possiblity of a fine or lease violation for setting their trash out before they go to work. Nasty notes were put on everyones door demanding that they comply with the time schedule.

The security gate here is a joke. They require that you pay a deposit to get a remote that will open the gate because they refuse to give anyone the code. People not having a code results in everyone listed on the gate machine recieving phone calls from random people at all hours of the day and night wondering if we would buzz them in. We have had to turn the ringer off of our phone at night because of this problem. As if that were not bad enough many o the unsupervised children prank call people using the worthless devise.

Ants and crickets are a serious problem here. We have requested numerous times for an exterminator to come out, but we are usually put on a waiting list and do not recieve any kind of assistance for at least a week. To top that off the exterminators they have a contract with come in and spray with a can of industrial strength raid...nothing more. We eventually had to pay and have an independent exterminator come out to have the job done correctly.

Closets are a big problem here. The construction was done so cheaply by a bunch of ice heads that the closets in the master bedrooms are not safe. Once you hang your clothes on them they collapse. Weigh of the items is not the issue, the racks are not screwed into studs, they are only screwed into the sheet rock. This incident has happened to 17 units that I am aware about, but I am sure there are more that were not reported.

Please reconsider living here. We regret that we signed a year lease. There are much nicer places to live for about the same amount of money. Check into Horizons at Fossil Creek. Rent is the same but they actually have amenities and you don't have to worry about driving over beer bottles as you are leaving the property every morning.
If you are ghetto fabulous you will love this place!

This is absolutely and 100% accurate. Not sure about the illegal narcotics, because I'm never out that late, but I wouldn't be at all surprised. Couldn't have said it better myself.
