Nothing but frustration

The apartment complex isn't anything special. The only perk is that it is walking distance from Kilgore College and some restaurants. The parking isn't designated and there aren't specified parking spaces.

The neighbors are noisy. They often shout and walk outside windows to talk. If you live downstairs, you can hear your upstairs neighbors walking around. Every weekend kids yell and scream outside for most of the day starting at 9-10 am and ending when it gets dark. Sometimes there is loud music playing all day outside and nothing is done about it. Good luck on trying to rest for the weekend.

The shrubbery is often overgrown enough to where the bushes reach the second story. Trash is in the bushes, on the sidewalk, and outside your door. The trash near the street side has never been picked up. There isn't any designated parking.

There is hardly any outside lighting. I have always felt unsafe walking outside at night. Since it is by a college, kids are always walking and hanging around. I highly recommend that college girls don't live here with the loitering college men at night.

With maintenance, if you experience a problem with anything it may or may not be fixed. They don't have an on-sight maintenance. The companies they hire are incompetent. My inside air conditioning unit went out and they had to come back three times to make it work; all of it could have been avoiding by them making sure it actually worked when they installed a new unit. The plumbers aren't any better. My sink has had a leaky facet for a year because the plumbers ignore that problem.

We left because of maintenance problems. Our apartment flooded twice in a few days time and it took them two weeks (without our air conditioning working in mid Texas summer) to pull up the soaked carpet. The apartment is saturated in mold and they didn't offer to send us to a hotel or anything; they ignored the health hazard and continue to ignore it.

They spray for bugs seasonally and routinely.

The on-site landlady is mostly helpful and friendly. The land lord (the one who owns the apartment) is difficult to find and could care less about the tenants. Good luck tracking him down to rent an apartment.

I recommend not renting this apartment, especially the room that is going to become available; it is a health risk and they are just going to put the old carpet back in and probably aren't going to spray the ENTIRE apartment down for mold.
