My husband and I were burnt out looking for apartments all over Killeen (we had been staying in a motel for 1 week and a half). We even stopped by a place in Copperas Cove which we would have signed up for if not for outrageous prices for a two-bedroom. It was also one of the only places we found that had good reviews AND that allowed pets. When we weren't happy with the price range (it would have been over $1000 for a 2 bedroom that we didn't even want. 2 beds were all they had available) She called up Stonecreek and talked with them. Stonecreek wanted to see us.

First off, and let me tell this so it's clear to those who read this, the Copperas Cove apartment 'Clear Creek Meadows', called Stonecreek RIGHT BEFORE we left to go to them. Well, what do you know happened when we arrived' Stonecreek's office was CLOSED for an hour. You think they would have the decency to let us know over the phone that they planned on being out for an hour before we rushed over there. Strike 1.

It looked nice, but the lady that helped us was extremely self-involved and not very smart. We began paperwork proceedings. She took our drivers licenses and began jotting information down on a paper. When she asked us if we had pets, we told her we had a cat. Oh they only allow birds and fish... Strike 2.

My goodness, I had no idea that birds were less messy than one cat!

This lady did not even mention to us over the phone that they did not allow pets. We drove from Copperas Cove back to Killeen (15-20 minutes!) thinking we finally found our future home! Very unprofessional. She began paperwork and said we were all good to go! Imagine our relief when we thought we would finally have a place to call home! Oh... you have a cat.. nevermind. Very frusterating!

If you want to be strung around, then by all means, go to this place.

I don't understand why they don't even allow cats. This is definitely NOT an ideal place to live. I was warned about this place beforehand for rude people and silly policies, I guess I had to find out for myself!

You should just ditch the cat. There's nothing better than being able to leave the apartment 17 minutes before formation and still make it on time...and Stone Creek allows you that ability. Plus it's gated and has washer and dryer hook ups.

Ditch the cat? I don't think so. This was my first pet with my husband. He's very much a part of the family. We don't think abandonment of an animal is an option. Also- Arbors of Killeen IS gated with washer and dryer hookups as well. This is the safest I've ever felt in Killeen. We went with Arbors of Killeen. It's like 15 minutes from base and we live right next to everything- Target, Post Office, Library. Not to mention this place actually has kids out and about and very nice family-oriented people. We are glad Stonecreek didn't work out. They also allow cats AND dogs!

Moral of this story: If you own a pet and want to rent an apartment, ask the manager if the place allows pets.

Hey, Mr. Joe.g. If you read the whole thing, you would have seen that the place were were at previously ALLOWED pets hence, when Stonecreek wanted us to visit them, you'd think that the one thing that we went all the way out to Copperas Cove for (which would be the pets being allowed) would be at their so-called "sister" apartment building. Learn to read.

Bottom line, you should have done your homework ahead of time. You should have called Stone Creek and asked about their pet policy. As for the lady that told you that you were "good to go"..... if you didn't want to reside in Stone Creek, then you shouldn't have signed your lease agreement, since it is legally binding as it is. Also, you can't say that Stone Creek isn't safe to live at, since there ARE Killeen PD officers that live there too, and I have personally seen them around and about, making themselves HIGHLY visible and deterring anyone from trying anything stupid. Besides, if Stone Creek is such a bad place to live, then why did you even sign your lease agreement in the first place? Why did you move-in to begin with? I guess the answer remains a mystery. And as for the pet policy.....you can thank past residents for spoiling that one for you. I wanted to get a cat myself, but unfortunately, residents in the past are the ones responsible that have ruined it for everyone.

Just when I thought I found a decent place to move in, they don't allow cat! There's no way I will get rid my baby kitty.
