management is the real issue

Okay, I lived there for quite some time and my apartment was fine. No major repairs were ever needed. The area is quiet (really liked South Shore Harbour). Never, ever believe that the gates will work and don't get the key fab they offer for $50. In the two years I lived there, the gates worked at best a TOTAL of 2 months. It's true that the IN gate is always open and the OUT gate is closed. The fitness area is completely dated and the community room is always closed (has been since before Hurricane Ike). You will get people that leave trash bags outside their door and by the stairs and management does nothing; I asked politely three times and got attitude the last time so I posted notes on every door in my building stating the apartment rules on trash and the fines... it didn't happen again but mgmt didn't help. The complex looks like you could show it off to friends but take a closer look and NO, NOT REALLY! I have never seen them power wash the exterior and some buildings REALLY need it. There was a big influx of people moving in and out. Two of them in my building moved due to burglary and one due to mold. I did not have these issues, lucky I guess. If you are low maintenance this will be fine. Again, my apt was fine but believe all of the other reviews that state management is bad. Oh, and there are abandoned cars, motorcycles, boats, bicycles and just stuff everywhere. An insurance fraud dream scenario. One car has been there for years... with it's windows down... through the hurricane and it's still there!
