As other reviews have stated: the appliances are very outdated and extremely inefficient, the walls are paper thin (I hear my neighbor's dog constantly), utilities are about what you would pay for a house (the water bills are based on square footage for your apartment, there are no individual water meters so even if you don't use much water, you will get billed for what everybody else uses).

I chose a view of the pool (cheaper than a marina view). Unless you like noise from the pool at all hours of the night, DO NOT get a pool view. The posted hours are from 10am to 10pm, but the party animals don't follow the rules and management either can't enforce the rules or doesn't care to.

I have no complaints against the management or maintenance staff. They do their job to the minimum amount required. I have had several work orders submitted throughout the 14 months I have been here. The first work order was for wasps/bees on my patio. They had somebody come and spray, but nobody followed up to see if the problem was corrected -- several work orders later I decided to take care of the problem myself.

I renewed my lease for an additional 6 months, but am now leaving because I purchased a house. When I renewed my lease, management was very willing to negotiate the monthly rent. However, when I notified Tina that I was moving out, there was willingness to work with me on breaking the contract. Not that I expected them to, but I might be more willing to overlook the deficiencies of the complex and recommend this place to friends/coworkers. Not now!

Many of my friends and coworkers live in apartment complexes near JSC. They pay a similar amount and the apartment is much nicer. Do not rent from the Palms @ South Shore!
