I resided at this complex for 2 years. The year and a half of my occupancy was nothing but disappointment and financial frustration.
The demographic of the residents in this complex is swiftly declining. Parking is a nightmare. The gates only work about 1/3 of the time. The grounds are unkept. Misc. trash and liquor bottles decorate the sidewalks, islands, and grass. Expect to hear Rap and/or Tejano music being blasted from outside vehicles ALL hours of the night. Many apartment units exceed the maximum number of occupants allowed by Texas Tenant Laws and the walls are paper thin so expect to hear everything your neighbors are doing. The outside of the units are extremely aged and weather-worn. The pipes in my unit were always leaking. My a/c went out more than five different times and I was without air conditioning altogether for four days during August 2004... in a second story apt! In addition to that my electric bill was around $300.00 plus during both summers I spent here as the a/c units are all more than 10 years old. The office staff and maintenance personell leave much to be desired. Expect to make NUMEROUS maintenance requests before receiving any sort of response. And once you receive a response no actual resolution of your problem will occur for an additional 1-2 weeks as maintenance personell cannot be counted on to show up as scheduled.
My car was broken into and the radio was stolen. It wasnt even a custom stereo... just the factory stereo, if that gives you an idea of how criminal your neighbors are.
And as the Finale to this hellish residency at this complex, the office staff is dishonest with regard to refunding your deposit. They will claim that you did extensive damage to your unit, but when you ask to see proof of these damages such as repair invoices, receipts, etc. they cannot produce any documentation of the damages for which they are witholding your deposit.
The price of the units may be attractive but please remember you will get much less than you pay for. In the long run, the utility bills, auto break-ins, frustration with the staff, and annoyance of the neighbors will cost you more than if you just were to rent at more expensive apartment complex. Just dont make the mistake of renting here. BE HAPPY-RENT ELSEWHERE !
