They use your patio's and garage electricity to do construction work around the area when you are not home.
Check your electric bill now....

OMG...My first full electric bill was so freakin' high that I called them immediately and had them "check" everything from AC/Heating Unit to refrigerator, and after checking my meter daily, I called them again. I finally quit using ANY Heat to actually even be able to PAY my bill, and it's twice as high as I have ever paid in a 3/2/2 HOUSE, using all that I needed! I called the electric company next for them to check the meter and they said nothing was wrong with it.

I never turned on my heater this summer because the bills were getting so high. That still didn't keep my bill as low as a one bedroom apartment should be, so I made sure to turn off lights when I left, use hardly any lights while I was home, and check the temp on the fridge. Still having a high bill, and yes, the meter checked out fine. Could be the fridge or something I guess. Seems to always be running...
