Good Times at Chapel Hill...

I can't really complain about this apartment... yes, at times there are not enough parking spaces.... at times my neighbors can be a bunch of loud mucks... and maintenance isn't at my door 5 minutes after I call. BUT, I moved here because of the dog parks, which is a huge plus, something I could not find any other apartment to compare to... and the pools.

Spend a week comparison shopping and you will see that you will be getting a better deal than anywhere else. There is everything you could possibly need here, which saves actually "going out" with friends. You can invite everyone over for pool night, for pool parties, to the sports bar, etc.... Come on now, think about how much money is spent going out. I think that alone is worth something.

And check out the location of your apartment at a few different times. That's what we did and it paid off. It is super quiet by our apartment. The few kids around are never out playing. We are by a pool but the opposite side, so we hear no pool noise. And a convenient walk to every which direction to the important places we wanted to be by. And a beautiful view... although there are some 3rd floor apartments that have beautiful unobstructed views of the Dallas skyline! (Not mine, but i wish i had known about it!)

And just like any other apartment complex... get your rates and square footage together... compare amenities and haggle with the leasing agent! You would do it for car lease or purchase, and you can do it for a apartment rental or house purchase.... Just brush up on your negotiating skills and know what you want...

The daily trash pickup is wonderful, I don't care if I'm paying $3 or $5 for it.... and I don't mind a water bill that we all share either... because it's better than paying water bills and taxes on a house of the same size! As for electricity... I rarely have to use my A/C because we don't catch direct sunlight and there are ceiling fans in EVERY room....

I think the complex is fantastic and it's in excellent shape. It's massive and it is still on the luxury side... the interior and carpets are beautiful and the kitchens and bathrooms are updated nicely...

I am very happy here and think it's a great place to live.....

Ok, now was this REALLY written by a resident? I'm thinking management! I lived at Chapel Hill for the duration of my 10 month lease and I hated it from the first night stay. The apartments are old and I wouldn't advise living there. Check out Cresent Cove Apts. or Alta Vista..they are much nicer and you can get them at a better rate. Shop around first!!!

Yes, I am most definitely a resident... and I always advise people to shop around first anyways, as evidenced by my post. I just don't go in paying minimal rent expecting valet service and a royal butt kissing by management and maintenance is all. And I definitely think that if I had chosen a different model apartment in Chapel Hill I WOULD NOT have been happy. It pays to look at the layout ahead of time and know who your neighbors will be. And that's what we did... we drove around it SEVERAL times before making a final decision... and I don't think that management at Chapel Hill would be making such open suggestions... really... I was just being honest.... and I don't deny that some other residents may not find it to their liking... but that is my opinion and I am happy. I am sorry you weren't and it wasn't a good experience for you... but to those that would choose to live here, there are a good group of us neighbors that would be happy to welcome you and we've been happy... just catch one of us at the dog parks!!!!

lol what a joke...My daughter lives at Cresent Cove and the smell in the summer is bad from the dump site RIGHT next to you!

Ok, I lived at Chapel Hill for almost 2 1/2 years and even though I didn't use the amenities like the person posting their sales pitch did, I can say that it's also not nearly as bad as some of the other people have written either. If you're someone like me and care primarily for an apartment that looks nice inside when I get home from work (layout), not worried about the neighbors or any drama outside my apartment, then Chapel Hill is great. There's some value to knowing that if anyone makes noise, the staff takes care of it. I say this because it happened after moving in. The maintenance people take care of things, and in a reasonable time frame which made my prior apartment place look horrible which they were. The only thing bad that I have to say is the trash deal. 7 days a week is great, but at some point my neighbors need to take responsibility with regard to living like a slob. I don't know what the office can do about people leaving their nasty trash out at all hours of the day & night. They have curbside trash pickup from 6 am to 8:30 am 7 DAYS A WEEK PEOPLE. Coming home at night to see 20-30 different piles of trash throughout the community was offensive and provides evidence that we had IDIOTS living in our community! (Probably the same people who write extremely rude and offensive remarks on this site!) AND it's not the staff's fault at all, out of their control unless they want to pay for someone to pickup these boneheads' trash & go through it to see who's it is, which is sad that it had to be done. That says a lot about the staff at Chapel Hill that they cared enough about the idiot resident issue of trashing up the property to go to that length to resolve it. It's funny, the person who wrote about Crescent Cove smells like the dump located next to them understands just how bad it is..WHY CAN'T THE NEIGHBORS AT CHAPEL HILL BE RESPONSIBLE WITH THEIR TRASH?? The bottom line is, even though I thought when I considered moving to Chapel Hill that I wouldn't "use the amenities, just need a place to stay", I found some value to what was offered. After moving in however, I did enjoy the major movie theater, free hot brunch every month, and things that I didn't think about when looking for an apartment. I'd still be there if I didn't move out of the area. Take it from a regular guy; Chapel Hill is a great place to live.

Has anyone had a problem getting their deposit back. I will be filing a complaint to small claims court. Why do these appartments try to ripe people off or is it just the black tenants. I cleaned the place, no damage, and gave the odd 2 month notice and they still claim I own them money after paying a month deposit or do they only make the black tenants pay deposits like that. I paid nearly $900 dollars for deposits. What jerks!!!!!!!!
