As the title indicates, I lived at Chapel Hill for 4.5 years until I bought a new home a couple months ago.
While I cannot in all honesty say that I never had issues with the community, I would be lying if I said that my time there was unpleasant.
Yes, occassionally I had to call more than once to make sure my work orders were being submitted.
Yes, often times I would have to park a bit further from my apartment because of parking.
I did also require 3 tick treatments of my apartment, when there was an infestation of ticks in the grassy/tree area directly behind my apartment that got inside my apartment.
Occassionally my neighbor would leave his trash in front of his door, which was next to mine, all day.
And yes, some dog owners didnt clean up after their pets and I was forced to navigate an obstacle course of droppings in the grassy area by my car.
But all these things occured over a 4.5 year period of time. They were not daily occurances, more the exception to the rule, if you will.
Overall my apartment building was quiet, the apartment suited the needs of my family, the amenities were convenient and when I really need the help of the office staff, they were usually accommodating. At times when I was frustated with the community, I would have to remind myself that this is in fact an apt. community, with all the issues that will stem from having almost 1200 apts.
At move out, my inspection was very fair. The deductions to my deposits were valid and the refunded amount I received was returned in a timely mannner.
Would I recommend this community? If you are looking for a decent place to live with alot of nice ammenities and can follow up with the staff to make sure things are handled, then yes.
If you are looking for a nice place to live with fewer amenities but more customer service, I would recommend any of the smaller communities in the area, as they are probably more equipped to handle any issues quickly just based on the smaller size of their communities.

ddjacson,
Perhaps you should read my initial review and then determine if I work in the office.
I stated that there were issues with the community, but that I expect things not to be perfect living in an apartment community. I also said that I would recommend Chapel Hill if a person wanted great amenities but were willing to sacrifice customer service. I also stated that if customer service was more of a priority, then perhaps renters should look elsewhere.
That certainly is not a glowing recommendation from a staff member. That is an honest review from a former resident who spent 4.5 years at the property before buying a new home and moving out June 30th.
To answer your question, I frequented the pools at the white house and the one behind The Zone often. I never said that the white house staff asked every single person, everyday for ID at the pool, I said that I had witnessed this happening but I wasnt sure if such measures were in effect at all the other pools.
Believe what you will about what I have stated, the only thing I can do is provide an honest review and account of my time at Chapel Hill. Whether or not you or anyone else chooses to believe what I have written is entirely your prerogative.

MP3116 you sound like you work in the office. I go to the pool every weekend and it is a joke, but I go because I live here. I have never been ask for my ID from any employee or officer. I have only seen an employee or an officer twice in 4 months and them I was asked for my name and apartment number. What pool do you go to, I am at the pool by the white house.

Hi Anonymous, I use to live at Chapel Hill about 2 years ago, I have 23 then. Things were a little better then, I have since got married and my husband moved us off that property. Too many people unmonitored. The pools are overcrowded, there is alot of partying and drinking. Cars get broken into more frequently than the surrounding apts. We moved down to Broadstone and we pay less rent, everything is monitored, cameras on the gates and the gates actually work. The management knows everyone. Very safe and comfortable environment. Chapel Hill served me well while I was there but I will never go back. Especially when there are much newer, nicer, cleaner and safer apartments across the street for the safe rent. Best of luck making your decision.

Honestly, there are better options. As if this the only apt complex in the area. I lived in Chapel Hill for 3 years and I tell you its awful especially the management and the maintenance. And why on earth do want to compromise and live in such a depressing atmosphere? I have a couple of friends in Broadstone too who came out of Chapel Hill. They are happy and have no problems.
