After over 3 yrs, we saw the light and moved out of Emery Bay Apartments. The last 18 mths. was absolutely the WORST! From 2002 until 9/2003 my husband and I were miserable. First of all, our upstairs neighbors were complete a..holes. They were either very clumsy or just plain retarded and stupid. They were constantly and "conveniently" dropping heavy things, bumping walls, etc. Calls were made to send a security officer out, but nothing was ever done. We actually thank our neighbors for being complete idiots. They gave us the incentive to go out and buy a brand new home we are now enjoying.

My husband's car was vandelized, people played sand volleyball and basketball all hours of the night (even at 4 and 5 o'clock in the morning).

But beware! When you move out, if your apartment isn't cleaned spotless (we are being charged a total of $55 for things like dust on our mini-blinds, dust in the corners of our kitchen and bathroom floors - even though they were mopped, etc. - minor crap), you can forget about getting your full deposit back! In the first place, these apts. are built with cheap materials - for ex. the bathroom tub is made out of PLASTIC -extremely hard to clean spotless after 3 yrs. of use! We've lived in other apts. and after moving out mgmt. said they didn't have to pay anyone go back behind us and clean hard because we did such a good job - we got a full refund and didn't have to wait over a month to get it either!

I feel that being loyal tenants over 3 yrs, always pd. our rent on time, and never been reported for anything during our stay - should count for SOMETHING! They should've gladly given us a full refund if for nothing but ending the relationship on a high note for future references (we've even made referrals to Emery Bay about friends who actually ended up moving there)and this is the thanks we get! Therefore, we will never, ever refer anyone else to this complex. We will tell people not to move there! We regret paying Emery Bay ridiculous sums of money for as long as we did.

I know this is a long comment, but I want everyone reviewing this site to know of our experience with Emery Bay. Now the choice is yours!
