I loves it when my husband and I first moved in. The floor plans I thought were different and nice. When you actually begin to 'live' here, you'll notice that your apartment will get ransacked by every kind of different bug imaginable thanks to the lake. I've had the pest control here and a week later my apt was raided by ants. Silverfish appear EVERYWHERE not to mention weird beetles.
Every window in our apartment leaks when it rains and we have to load the window sills and floors with towels. We've asked they be fixed and had someone out several times to do it, but every time it rains it still leaks. We moved in and they tried to patch a huge hole in one of the bedroom doors with some cheap filler and it looked terrible and it took them 3 months to come and replace the door after we demanded we get a new one.
The walls are so thin you can hear every conversation and step people take above you. Our upstairs neighbors have fights and parties at 4 am on their balcony right outside our bedroom window and we can hear every word. We can hear their TV's and radios at all hours of the night.
Maintenence takes their sweet time to come fix problems if they even do decide to fix them at all. The staff blow you off when you call and complain, most of the time they act 'put off' if you bother them at all with anything. When packages come the office will take them and never tell you they got here. Parking is the worst I've ever encountered. There's no point in buying a car port or garage, you'll have to walk out in the rain anyway. You could be 9 months pregnant and carrying a toddler in your arms and have to walk a quarter of a mile to get from your car to your apt.
Some nights the dump smells so bad I gag when I get out of my car. Can never just open the balcony door and enjoy fresh air with the smell of sewage.
It's ridiculous. Not worth the money, time or frustration.

Sounds like you need to own a home. I live here and love it. Ants are ants. May beetles are everywhere in TX. I had ants and it took 4 weekly applications to rid. I had a leak. They cut up my ceiling to find. I went to mall and returned 2 hours later and you could not tell they were there. By the way the Sheet rock they remove/replaced was the thickest I've ever seen. The walls are well insulated. If you want crap go to Waterford at the Park in Carrollton or as I now refer to as "Little Mexico". Leaks, Mold, Noise, Kids, Horrible Electric Bills, adn, I quote the Lead Maint. Tech - Mark after a leak from upstairs stained ceiling "We won't fix it, all we do is paint." direct quote. Many problems and Property Manager Natalie is a complete moron. They dunned me for $5.00 one month via a nasty letter. Turns out after I paid and got the time to research, They were wrong. No apology.
