I have lived at Emery Bay for a few months now. I really haven't had too many complaints. Although there are definitely crime issues. My roommate had her wheels stolen from her car, and later, my car was broken into. However, I've had friends cars broken into at other complexes in Lewisville. Theft is just a problem in this city, and that is the police's problem, not the apartments. It would be nice if Emery Bay had survelance cameras. Also, the manager gave my roommate a discount on a garage because of the theft.
Also, I love the extras of the community. How many communities offer a volleyball court, basketball court, 2 pools, and a fitness center that has every machine that I like to use. Also, the lake is cool to take walks around.
I can agree with some peoples' remarks about how rude the office staff is. They take your requests without a smile or anything. They seem like they are bored or something. But of the girls, Joy, is nice to me everytime I go in. Also, the manager has bent over backwards for my roommate and I, because of the discount on the garage, and our dog is over the weight limit. Also, I like going into the office to get the Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. Yummm.
So, basically, Emery Bay isn't the best, but it does have it's good points. And I think those good points out weigh the bad ones. And I think for what I'm paying for rent, it's a much better deal than other places around town.
I do have mixed feelings about the maintenace, because when my roommate's toilet was clogged, they didn't come to fix it for a few days, so you can imagine the stench. But last week, our heater broke, and they came that same hour to fix it.
As for the other people's remarks, I find plenty of parking because I live on the end of the complex. I can't hear my neighbors, because I'm on the third floor (i also get 10 foot ceilings), also, I have no neighbors below me right now. And the dump only smells at night sometimes.
