Place is OK, Manager is HORRIBLE!

I am coming up on the end of my lease and I am running to a new apartment complex like the last chopper out of 'nam. The apartment isn't bad, but not great. Air leaks are horrible and the air conditioning sucks. I had them come out 6 times to try to get the AC working properly as it would not cool below 78 degrees even while running non-stop all day. The manager was horribly patronizing and rude as humanly possible. She basically told me that because I live on the 3rd floor, I get to sweat all summer.
I finally decided to look at the unit myself. Granted I had never worked on home AC before, but I am an ex-mechanic, so it is hardly a stretch to work on. I figured out the problem in about 5 minutes and it would have been a cheap fix. Oddly enough, they still wouldn't fix it even after walking the incompetent maintenance person through the fix and the issue. I had to call the management company to make complaints and they were quite helpful. Honestly, besides the manager at the complex and the maintenance staff, everyone else was outstanding and helpful. I can only hope the manager of the complex no longer is employed with them, as she was a sorry excuse for a person let alone a manager.
The people in the complex were OK, but there were some noisy folks. Everyone seems to have the largest dog humanly possible in this complex and they love to bark like crazy. The parking lot kinda sucks, but there is usually plenty of parking. As for the apartment itself, lots of door closing problems and shoddy work inside. Painting they did was the equivalent of a 3rd grade finger painter. Appliances are outdated and kinda work most of the time. Not worth the slightly cheaper rent.

As his neighbor, I also live on the 3rd floor, this guy gave the managment and all of us long term neighbors around
him a run. Thank god your moving that wrecked car you all drove was an embarrasment when my friends used to come and visit and it would help if you would have cleaned up after your dog. I am glad managment made you move the bike from the stairwell after my daughter tripped on it. BYE! good luck to your new neighbors - Weirdos!

Dude, I don't know what apartment you're in but I'm on third floor and yeah it gets kinda warm but HELLO, it is the third floor and it is over 100 degrees in the middle of summer. The hottest my apartment ever got over the summer was 80 but that was in the middle of the day. I really don't know what your beef is with the manager, but it sounds like you're the one with the problem. By the way, if you have a problem with heat and high temperatures dude, then why are you living in Texas? Why don't you move up North where it's COLD?

Well, I live in the Enclave Apartments now and I'm with you on the everything you said. I think the maintainance people act as if they really don't know what they're doing and the manger IS very rude! I've been living here for 3 years,I pay my rent early and I don't cause problems, so when I ask you to fix something that's exactly what I expect. Instead, you tell me there's nothing wrong when I'm sitting in the apartment naked and sweating because it's so hot day and night and the air is on constantly on? Now, I could probably understand the other comments if the apartments where always like this but I've been here two summers and my air worked just fine. So why shouldn't in work now? And for the person talking about it's the third floor, ok it's the third floor but I've lived in apartments with more than three floor in the SOUTH and the air worked just fine so that's no excuse.
Maybe if they use the units, windows, and blinds the they use for the office for the apartments they won't have this problem. My husband work in the heat and he should have to come and live in it to. They won't fix nothing, painted the bathtubs which eventually peeled off, and snapped when I ask them to fix it but they continue to raise my rent. Now there's something wrong with this picture. The people in my complex is fairly nice but people move in and out so quick I might have one out of eight of my neighbors still living here whose been here since I move in MAYBE one! I wouldn't recommend these apartments. I'm moving as soon as my lease is up.

i have NEVER had a problem with any of the Staff. Especially the manager. I have only had to call after hours maintenance 3 times and the response was within 10 minutes and problem solved within 10-30 minutes.
I feel safe, the grounds are beautiful and the pool is well maintained.
Good Luck at your new places....all of you
