I have lived in here for some time and after living in other apartments, I have learned one thing about what people say. It seems that those people who don't get their way or don't understand how apartment living is structured always seem to be the ones complaining.
I know people are saying that SBC is the only provider here, and that is true...but did you know it is not only this place, but all the other nearby apartments' When I asked about this, I found out that SBC bought exclusivity rights from Verizon, so none of the apartments nearby have it either. Does it make those places less desireable' I would like Comcast as well, but it's not really that bad. Also, I was told that when I came looking. I wasn't blindsided.
My apartment is really quiet too for being so close to 121. As far as maintenance, it seems funny, but they seem to always be in my apartment (from replacing air filters every 2 or 3 months, to checking my smoke alarm). I'd rather have that then have to have them come out to fix things after they break! Parking can be tight at times, but I think that's just apartments in general. I have seen that in almost every place I have lived. If it get's that bad, I usually get a reserved space, and problem gone. Grounds are generally pretty clean. The management is pretty much a shoot from the hip kind of group of people. They will tell you things the way it is. If it's good news they tell you, if it's bad news, they tell you. I guess the old addage is true: If you don't want to know the truth, don't ask the question.
They are quick to deal with issues, at least from my dealings with them and will make every reasonable accomodation if they can. I'm quite happy here, and will stay for a while.

I don't live at these apts. But I live on 121. So I am near you. We get Verizon, and Comacast. So I dont' know what that problem is. but as for people complaining. I don't think you can assume that the person is to blame just because you have not had problems and we cant assume the apts. are good becasue you havn't. My apts. for exampl for the most part are ok, but they are old and fallin apart. Some apts worse than others. SO for those stuck in the broken ones yes, it is a problem, those in the nicer ones don't see the problem. Just as those who live on one side don't se poop on the dog park side etc.. Those living above the pool see how often it gets cleaned etc..so it depends on perspective and experience. That's what this thing is for. For everyone to share thier experiences good or bad. You can't assume they are exaggerating becaue it didn't happen to you. I have lived in plenty of apts and let me tell you nightmares do happen!!! Have you gone days without a/c in 100 degree heat? Would that be cause by not following rules?? no. so don't pick on people for sharing thier thoughts.

I lived in two other apartments with-in walking distance, both have options to choose for cable providers. I can only speculate that it's not the cable company who decides what community they can and cannot service, but rather the property owners. I do know that the service is way over priced compared to my previous cable providers, and I can't help but think that only the property and cable company benefits from this.

Actually, you are correct to a point. Apparently Macarthur is the dividing line for what they call the SBC "Sport Package". This is different from regular SBC as it is all inclusive, meaning cable, internet, and phone. Properties on the other side of Macarthur are not under those guidelines. Trust me when I say that I'm sure it is detrimental to the properties' performance because there is no option. It would seem to me that if it was the Property owner's decision, they would focus on keeping their investment full, and not shoot themselves in the foot by limiting something as socially important as Internet accessability. Pricing for electric, phone, and other utilities are not set by the property. Your gripe seems to stem from your angst from the cable company. You might want to try SBCratings.com.
