I had break my lease to go back to school for my masters degree. I explained my situation to the staff and went through all the procedures, pay release fee and the discounted portion of rent for the months I had lived in the apartment. Staff said they would get me a final bill when they had a chance. I left a forwarding address on my move out and had USPS forward all mail to new address. I called several times and they said they were working on it. I recieved no notice and I got a notice from a collection agency this week! Overall apartment was not bad, but I don't recommend this apartment because I don't do business with dishonest people.

It would seem to me that if you broke your lease and are getting calls from a collection agency, then you probably did not pay everything that you would owe.

That's all to famaliar. You can't get a straight response from anyone and when you do, a piece of paper is posted on your apartment the next day stating the exact opposite. They obviously do not have a system set in place to handle their business.
