Estancia at Vista Ridge

I just moved out of these apartments in July due to my husband being relocated. We lived there for about 20 months. The apartments are nice, we lived in the biggest 2 bedroom and really liked the layout. The only thing about the layout we didn't like was there was not any storage on the balcony which is already really small.
The walls are really thin. When we first moved in I could here a baby crying all the time through the dining room wall. The worst was our bedroom wall. At random times in the morning (sometimes at 5 am sometimes at 8 am) the apt. that we shared a wall with alarm would go off for 30 minutes or longer. I swear it sounded louder than my alarm. I finally started pounding on the wall which seemed to work since the alarm would always turn off. Then the guy started threatening me when I would pound on his wall to get him to turn his alarm off. I finally complained to the apartment and we didn't have another problem with that!
There is dog poop everywhere. They have several doggie poop stations that offer you bags and a place to dispose of it but nobody ever picked up after their dogs.
Spiders were a big problem outside of our apartment but I really didn't have a problem with them inside. I maybe had 2 spiders in almost 2 years of living there in my apt.
I had to call maintance to come by and fix my sink, I had no water pressure and what would come out would spray everywhere. The maintance guy called me back and said he was over an hour away and wanted to know if he could just come the next day. He said since it was a Sunday they only had maintance on call. When I told him no, he tried walking me through how to fix it. I'm sorry...that is why I pay to rent, so I don't have to fix anything!!!
At one time they had a problem with apartments being broken into. The police said it was bc it was right on the highway and easy for them to get away. The apartment has a gate but it was always open or broken. The girl below me had here apartment broken into. She said there was no forced entry and nothing was thrown about in her apt. She lived on the 2nd floor and there were not any windows or doors that she left open. The only thing she said that was missing was $300 cash and her ipod. She told us that when she reported it to the police they told her that the only things that people were reporting missing were small things that someone could fit into their pockets. The people in my building thought it was the maintance people since there was no forced entry and they were constantly putting notes finding reasons to come into our homes. The apt. complex did try to fix the problem. You were only allowed to enter the complex through 1 of the gates and you had to show them your drivers license to get in. If you didn't live there your name had to be on a list to get in. But they only did this for 2 weeks.
They only other thing I have to complain about is the main reason why I would not move back. My husband was transfered with his job in Nov. of 2007. I stayed to finish up my last semester of college. I resigned a 6 month lease with Nathan but made it clear that I would be moving out in May when my lease was up. I went to the leasing office in April to turn in my 30 day notice and was informed that I had a 60 day notice so I would have to stay an additional month and it would be $200 more since it would be considered month to month. When I explained the situation to the woman she informed me that Nathan was no longer there and she could do nothing to help me. She told me my only options were to move out when I wanted and let it go against my credit or just pay the money and go ahead and move out if I didn't want to stay. I know it was my fault for not realizing I had a 60 day notice instead of a 30 but she could of been nice and tried to work something out with me.

Regarding the theft, multiple complexes in the area were hit over the period of a few weeks. They suspected using a bump-key. It was on the local news and handouts. It was not estancia staff. Please do not assume before doing research. And move-out notice is 60 days and has been for years, sorry they couldn't change it for you.
