All the facts......

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
Been here a year now and I think I know enough to give a good quality review now.
I'll start with the bad points. They are either a huge deal or not, depending on what you value. Please read all the way through as I really think the good outweigh them.
1. The complex is not far from the city dump. You rarely can smell it, but after a rain when the weather is warm it really stinks outside. The smell does NOT carry to the inside of your apartment, so it is up to you how important that is.
2. The water is NOT drinkable. You will have to buy bottled water. There is no way around it. I am not very picky about water like some people I know but this is really not drinkable. I question if it is safe.
3. Air Conditioning. It's true, your power bills will be HUGE. I am still in shock a year later. Also true, the apartments do not cool well at all. Heat doesn't seem to be a problem, but cooling is an issue.
4. Some neighbors are, um, not what you would hope - some are litter bugs, some have loud parties. Other neighbors are really nice - just like most anywhere.
Don't get discouraged, here comes the good stuff.....
1. The paint, crown molding, etc. are really nice. The carpet is a lower-medium quality and is well installed. The arches and little built-in things really give the place character. It's a very cool-looking place.
2. The price. OUTSTANDING. Seriously, what a great deal. Granted, I can't afford more than I am paying, but I couldn't find anything nearly as nice as this in the same price range. I'm sure the dump has a lot to do with it, but it doesn't really bother me 99% of the time.
3. Management is what I would call mostly nice. Like I'd give them an 85% which I think is pretty good. Some notes left on doors have a certain tone that bothers me and some requests have not been handled "with a smile". Like I said, not at all bad, I just don't give them an A (but who really gets an A )
4. The attached garages! This is just awesome. If you have never had an attached garage before (I hadn't), you are going to be spoiled by this. It is so great. Plus, they are large ones. We fit 2 cars, plus lots of other stuff.
5. The complex itself is neat and clean. When my neighbors leave trash on the lawn, it is gone the next day at the latest. Plus, they have trash pick-up three times a week. It's so easy!
6. The noise level is usually very good. It seems the majority of the complex are young married people who pretty much keep to themselves. It's not a hugely social place, but it is quietly friendly if you know what I mean.
7. The way emergencies are handled. When the mailboxes were broken into they immediatly got newer, much more expensive, and much stronger boxes and there have been NO problems since. (This was months ago.)
I think this is a fair review. I hope it can help.
