I have lived at Lakepointe since the beginning of this year, I am a big stickler for customer service.

Before I moved in, I used to drive by Lakepointe Residences everyday to/from work and I would think to myself, Wow, nice apartments but they sure look expensive . A year later, I am looking for an apartment location that s easily accessible to Downtown Dallas (20 min., south) AND Denton (20 min., north) but not too remote from Frisco/Plano area (where I do some business). This places me in the neighborhood of I-35 and Hebron Rd/Round Grove.

I bit the bullet and searched the east side of I-35, where garages were always an option and apartments were spaced (not cluttered) and had water views. Disappointed and exhausted in my search, I went into Lakepointe Residences to humor myself. I was expecting them to laugh in my face when I told them my range. That s when I met Amanda and I found out that LR had ALL the amenities I was looking for plus the price was reasonable. Not to mention, she told me of discounts that I qualified for upfront without even having to haggle with a Big Manager. I was like This is it, this is my home! I was an unusual case and I required unusual care . Instead of dealing with the typical robotic response sorry, we don t normally do that, so I am going to have to say no , I got Amanda who said let me tell you your options and if needed, I ll go find the answer. The price and amenities were just a bonus but the attitude of the staff is what clinched the deal for me. I knew that the staff were thinkers and therefore I could reason that any potential issues and matters would be resolved reasonably and timely. I found an apartment community that has set high standards for themselves as well as their tenants, required for a mutually beneficial business. I say this because this is a high-end apartment community and in order for these apartments to maintain their high caliber, rules must be followed and mutual respect is paramount. That means, writing a complaint that you have first failed to give due diligence in resolving the matter with the complex AND other responsible parties (i.e., electric company, city of Lewisville, police, neighbor in contempt, renter s association, etc.) before flaming others in public view (i.e. apartment ratings.com) in attempt to only hurt the apartment s reputation. Such acts are not only unethical and unprofessional, but are flat out disrespectful; moreover, reflects only poorly on you.

I say this because I have read some of the previous complaints, in which the trend seems to be based more on personal matters, versus the issue at hand, were tenants are posting out of their own frustration and whose objective is NOT to resolve the matter but to retaliate or hurt the apartment s reputation. These are usually people who feel like the world owes them.

Also noted in the last three previous complaints is the tendency of how the tenants have failed to show how he/she has taken responsibility in resolving the issues at hand. For example, the dog complaint by Anonymous ; craftily written with witty repertoire, as he states in a plea to the apartment complex, to 86 the dogs or at least ask the owners to muzzle the dogs . Why didn t Doggy Anonymous do this himself, or call the city and/or animal control for options - or even the police' Moreover, if Doggy Anonymous currently lived in a house, then who would he/she call or blame' Is there a post for neighborhoods trashing their neighbors' This is a type of complaint that I would expect from someone who blames ONE person or ONE thing for all of our country s problems In other words, consider the source.

This next example is priceless with 15 work orders a toilet that flushes on to no electricity garage never works . Flickering lights numerous power surges on 5th microwave , reported by Anonymous . Shocked Anonymous , I am unclear as to what exactly is your complaint about in regards to the apartment complex. You have requested 15 work orders (perhaps the previous tenant was lazy and was okay with out the fixes) and apparently the complex fulfilled them as you haven t complained otherwise. Sandy stated that she had consulted a licensed electrician who inspected and denied any problems with you re your electricity. So, I am not sure what you are blaming the complex for if you have really done due diligence in acting on Sandy s suggestions, and believe the licensed electrician that Sandy hired is full of BS, then perhaps you should consider hiring an exorcist. Seriously, if you Google all of your complaints you ll get hits for How you know if you live with a ghost or How to find an exorcist . You may have some unfinished business with the dead. However, if you believe the licensed electrician that Sandy hired was incompetent, or you simply prefer a second opinion, than hire one yourself. If the electrician you hire finds something wrong that the first electrician failed to diagnose, than you can deduct your costs against your rent. Refer to the Renter s Rights website. Take responsibility and move forward. Remember, Lakepointe Residences are for young professionals who make things happen.

Finally, a complaint from Will screw no matter what by Anonymous . First of all, I can t believe I am dignifying this complaint with a response but here it is anyway. Screwed Anonymous reports of tons of empty parking allotted for guests only, and were SOME residents are allowed to park . I have only two comments: 1) Screwed Anonymous , do you realize you posted under Lakepointe Residences of Lewisville, a community of less than 250 apartments with all attached garages' I barely have enough visitors parking for my Sunday night card games! 2) Take your medication, please!

Why have I blasted the respective complainants, you ask' I am not simply trying to stick up for management or say there are no valid complaints. I am just trying to convey the importance of respecting our freedom of speech and information and minimize the abuse of such websites to protect the purpose for which they were created. Everyone that reads these reviews wants honest comments to make informed decisions. Problems to be leery of are repeated problems from different senders. Also, anonymous senders lose credibility as how is it known that it s not the same person making new reports' And why is it that a tenant is always online to rebut anything positive' For someone to have nothing else to do but stay on aptratings.com to continually insult LR; his credibility speaks for itself. Bottom-line, Lakepointe Residences is a community with high standards for themselves, their property and their tenants. Come in with an attitude that the world owes you and I guarantee you will not be happy. A take care of the property as you would like it; return it like you found it attitude will almost guarantee your happiness at Lakepointe Residences. LR is my home and I am proud to be living within a lovely community for and full of young professionals. Not to mention, the apartment gatherings and pool parties are top notch! ;-)

Oh, the irony!
You complain about how people post on personal matters, flame disrespectfully and surely have nothing better to do than sit on this website. Look how long your post is! Check out how much of this is personal attacks at previous reviewers instead of being a thoughtful write up on the actual apartment complex. I would put money on this being a Lakepointe staff member or a close friend or family member. Do you really think that "MuayThaiRocks" is any less anonymous than posting as "Anonymous"? Seriously? You boast of your claim to fight for freedom of speech yet blast people who have come here and done just that. The only allowed review seems to be a positive one. What a load of bull. "Take your medication, please!"

I never said that no one could have a good experience. I only ask that you stop rejecting the fact that anyone might have a bad experience and come here to say so.

In response to MuayThaiRocks reply below:
Really, you just can't rattle on about abuse of a review site when you took the opportunity to single out specific reviewers and lash out at them, saying things like "Take your medication please!" I think the pot just called the kettle an abuser.

Sorry to disappoint you, but every negative review on here hasn't been posted by the same person just because they all posted "anonymously".

Dear DoesThisSeemLessAnonymous, You actually make some very good points. Indeed, my post was quite long and - believe it or not - I was trying to avoid making it even longer. I never claimed to be a concise and articulate writer; in fact, I hate writing. Yet when I become passionate about an issue, my passion (and my tendency to ramble) can supersede my displeasure for writing. I take such an interest as a resident because readers may become my future neighbors and when I am looking for a new apartment in another city, I???d hope that the reviews I read are of value. Perhaps it???s a lost cause and such websites have lost its value due to its ease to abuse? Nevertheless, in the event I was unclear, allow me to reiterate. My intention was simply to point out the importance of responsible reporting ??? be it, negative or positive. I am an advocate for both, as long as it???s done fairly and responsibly. 1) State the unresolved issue(s); 2) State the steps you took personally to resolve it; 3) State viable solutions that management failed to act upon; 4) and be willing to back up your claims and accept any consequences of making such claims. That???s all. Fortunately, this forum has allowed you to express your thoughts about your experience; I think it's great that you have shared your piece. You are not happy and that's all that matters. I get it. I (and every reader) understands that your experience at LR was sub par to your standards ???however, enough already! (This is an example of abuse) One last thing - thank you - ???DoesThisSeemLessAnonymous??? is a bit more defining than the many other ???anonymous??? usernames. Now we can see which comments are connected to others (assuming you stick with only this name). However, (hopefully you will take this in the spirit it was intended), and we will not be hearing from you again, because you will have moved on to better things. I genuinely wish you all the best. Thank you for your thoughts??? MTR

From MTR's post: "Problems to be leery of are repeated problems from different senders."..... If the same problem is repeatedly reported by different users - did it ever occur to you that perhaps it is because it is a common problem experienced at this apartment complex? I am seeing consistently repeated entries on problems with parking, air conditioning, maintenance and management. You completely contradict yourself, MuayThaiRocks. What you wrote was much less a review of the apartments than it was of other reviewers. And you call them abusive?! You should realize that this is not a website for resolving matters. That's what the BBB is for. It's a site for current and former tenants to write reviews about their experiences with the apartments they have lived in, even if they don't fit your proposed format for complaints. That's all the people have done that you have picked on in your review. Perhaps you are the one who should move on to better things instead of sitting online flaming people who have used this site for its intended purpose. I didn't have a good time at Lakepointe either. Should I just wait my turn for you to pick apart the review I had posted? If you are truly an advocate of the "fair and responsible" - then what, please tell us, was fair and responsible about your bitter personal attacks on these reviewers?

wow, i wonder who really wrote this?

It's amazing that Amanda would write that comment on this page. Amanda, I've only been here for a short time and after speaking with other tenants on site, I'm sure you are one of very few that feel so highly about the monopoly that you and your mom has setup. Oh yeah....the noise is horrendous. Please be aware that there is a fire station nearby and you will hear loud sirens morning, noon, and night.

MuayThaiRocks vomits "For example, the dog complaint by Anonymous ; craftily written with witty repertoire, as he states in a plea to the apartment complex, to 86 the dogs or at least ask the owners to muzzle the dogs . Thanks for the props on the humor, I have to admit I kind of out did myself on that one. 2. You claim that I should not be trashing my neighbors but what about the consideration said neighbor is supposed to show me? Your reasoning works well on paper but put down what you are smoking and take a step out into reality. 3. You have no idea the frustration that my wife and I have had to endure because of said dogs. Why don't you try living next to a dog that barks all day and night long and perhaps you will begin to see why the review was written. But then again judging by your post you would have to first extract your head from you sphincter before doing so. 4. Complaints were made repeatedly to the apartment management. Both in writing and verbally. I'm sorry if I'm not one of those people who decides to bend over and take it without any lube. 5. I must say that after this was posted I did receive a letter from Sandy stating that the issue of the dogs had been resolved. Isn't it amazing how a little leverage goes a long way. 6. The owner of the dog used to leave the mutt in their garage, You might want to go sit in the garage on a really hot day to experience what that feels like. A word of advice, you might want to have the paramedics standing by. 7. My complaint about the apartment also revolves around the antiquated microwave (this is as nicely as I can put it) and the medieval stove. I will also agree with most of the people who post here that the electricity bills seem to be high. But I will also give the apartment management props for wanting to do something about this. Lastly, while you may love your apartment and feel that nothing can go wrong, understand that my wife and I have been here for over 2 years. I don't regret renting this apartment. Looking at the amenities and the lack of parking and also the proximity to the fire station I would say that I will not be recommending this place to anyone simply because in the long haul it just ain't worth it.

Ahh... here is your post in it's entirety wu_2k. 1.) I lived here long before I started working here and I never had complaints about my apartemnt. 2.) Not sure if you are aware, but a monopoly means exclusive ownership. Please indulge me as to how I can get a monopoly on this property. I would LOVE to make some of the money that is paid into this place. 3.) Noise is not "horrendous" in my opinion. ANYTIME someone asks me what the noise level is like, one of the first things I tell them is there is a fire station but it is NOT a constant noise disruption. 4.) If I were the only one that enjoyed living here, we wouldn't be almost 100% full. This is a website for grievances, for the most part and that is fine. People need to be heard and I appreciate that. I can provide you with a long list of tenants who would be happy to tell that they like it here. In the future, if you have issues with me personally, I would appreciate that you bring them up with ME...personally. Amanda
