My family has lived at Lakepoint Apartments for little over a year. The apartments looks very nice driving by, don t be fooled, inside, the apartments are old and inefficient. The people that live in the apartment complex, from our experience, are very nice. I like the people working on the apartment (maintenance), but management that s a completely different story. I don t have enough room to write their review.
Our problems started the move-in day. The apartment had not need cleaned from the last tenants. We found personal items in some of the drawers and the apartment smelled like smoke. Solution: Make one final check the day you are signing your lease and ask those things be done before signing, don t be pressure in signing the lease at a certain time.
Our apartment garage, the way it sits, does not have enough room to park an extra vehicle in front of it, therefore you are forced to pay an $40 for on-site parking, or risked being towed. Solution: if you need additional parking in front of your garage, make sure you have it. They will tow your vehicle without any care , and you can t part in the many extra spaces on site.
The rental price is cheap compared with most complexes, and it comes with mice, roaches, and other un-wanted pest as well. Please don t make the mistake of placing your garbage out early; the cost is $35 dollars per bag and you will be fined with no exceptions. You would think they had a garbage container on site, that one may walk their garbage too, but the gate is always locked. If you leave the garbage in the garage, then you are only inviting mice and roaches in your unit. Solution: Place the garbage in front of the locked dumpster to avoid getting fined.
The front gate is continually open during the night, which are a safety risk for sure but rest assure, they are locked during the day' Go figure! Solution: NONE
The AC unit is old and small, so please expect a high-energy bill in during the hot months. The walls and windows are thin, so expect your children to hear everything the neighbors are saying both in-door and out. Solution: NONE
Let me know if you need me to post the picture of the mice and roaches on-line, it s the least I can do for you!

As a fellow unsatisfied tenat, I agree whole-heartedly with this post. Utility bills are extremely high, you have geckos runnung in and out the apartment. The apartments do look very nice from the outside, but like this poster sais, DO NOT BE FOOLED. When my wife and I moved in, neither was our apartment clean. Maintenance is the best thing going at this apartment complex.

It's disappointing how management starts a reply with an attempt to sound helpful, however, there has to be a snarky jab at the end. In my experience, bringing my concerns to the attention of management has only gotten me more aggravation.

I am sorry to read this review. While I am certain we do not always make everyone happy, we try. I want to respond to each of your concerns. First, everyone moving here signs an addendum advising them they may only park in their garage or, drive behind the garage if they have one. We check how many vehicles you have before you are approved for an apartment to make sure your cars will fit with that unit. So, there should be no surprise. Visitor parking is for visitors. We have each apartment professionally cleaned prior to any move in. If you have concerns, ask me for a copy of the invoice and I am happy to give you one. If it does not meet your standard, let me know at movein and we will bring them back to make sure it does. We do curbside trash pick up Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Again, when you move in you sign an addendum that advises you to set trash out between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on those mornings. That helps avoid attraction of rodents and other pests. The addendum advises you if you set trash out at other times you will be fined. Our exterminating company is here every Tuesday. We treat each building quarterly but if you are having problems, come to the office, complete a service request and they will be at your apartment the next Tuesday to resolve whatever problems you are having. Finally, to help reduce utility bills, we added an additional 6 inches of insullation this past Spring. We also put solar screens on all western facing windows. I wish I could do more! The solution to most of your concerns is that we have a lease and addendums that all residents must files. If you have a problem, you need to let me know so we can fix it. If you don't, you have no one to blame but you.

i second the idea that bringing any concerns to management only leads to frustrations and run arounds to make sure the customer is NEVER RIGHT!

First, Let's get this clear... The purpose of this review sight is for tenants (current & future) to exercise their 1st Amendments Rights in regards to what they have/has experience at this property. If I would have posted a lie, then I would feel bad about your fee retialiation and posting a letter under my door. This site serves as a tools to communicate with current or future tenant wanting to lease at this property. My posting is a reflection of my views & opinion and thngs I have experience at the property (MY Right)outside of the TAA.

Oh and then not to mention.. Sandy never calls you back when you need to talk to her.. she is so conveniently always busy or not on property! Thanks for all your help!

I second the Sandie is never there or calls you back remark. The staff is pointless. They cannot ever address your issues or questions and "only Sandie can help you"...Well? Then Sandie needs to darn well be there and be responsive. I think it's more about that if too many people are invovled then they can't keep their lies/stories straight. One person, one story...no need to keep staff quiet about what they don't know. I think it's pretty sad that the office staff (even if most of them have had the personality of roofing tar) must catch all the ugly phone calls since Sandie won't deal with them. I would have defended the office and mgmt just a bit any other time after living there for several years...but I've watched it go downhill and I'm done with them. I don't care what she or the others say about trying to do a good job...they fail and fail miserably. A hundred angry posts or one manager's attempt at an excuse, who are you going to believe? If I were managing I'd get my property owner involved or find something else to do. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. It wasn't always like this. End of story.

I totally agree with all of you guys except the new office staffs who are pain since day one they worked. they try to toll my car 4 times and they only posted the sticker on there for only30 minutes and then your car gets toll away. I had to call the cops on them and the ----- in the office had to argue with me and said i didn't even belong on the contract and was going to evict me. I told her that is a lie. and then she said she's going to send a judge against me because she didn't get my car toll away. I really recomment anybody in the future to not live there and to rethink about it. unless they want to deal with the headache and pain from the office staff and management who trys to suck every penny from you. they charge for everything. save your self trouble and stay far away from this place. I have been living here paying 1,000 a month for 3years to have disrespect from this place.
