Became Scary at Night

When I moved here in the summer of 2001 I was very happy. There was plenty of green space for my dog and the place was clean and peaceful. There are also walking trails not too far away. Yes, there was quite a bit of dog poop around (I dubbed the playground area as 'poo park') but it was the fault of the owners, not the management. In 2003 the quality of the residents significantly declined. Dumpy cars (some not running) began appearing and people would hang out in the parking lot all hours of the night. It started getting scary to try and walk around within the complex since hooligans in souped-up vehicles used the fire lane as a race track. And residents with kids would let them just wander aimlessly - I can't believe none got ran over! They did raise my rate every year but only by $10. The one thing that irritated me the most is that when the complex went downhill I found out it was because they started offering extremely LOW rates to ANYONE!! And they wouldn't honor the same rates for me, a great tenant. Parking is sketchy - even if you have assigned covered parking. Management was always polite and responsive. Repairs were always made quickly. This would be a nice place if they weeded out the undesirables! There are also too many kids in the pool areas...I was afraid to swim because I knew all the kids were peeing since there aren't any bathroom facilities at pools #2 & #3. Utilities are much higher than other similar apts. - especially the water. Worth checking out but do it on a weekend when you can see what the people and vehicles look like. It may have changed for the better.
