When I moved out, they charged me over $1,000 in charges I did not owe (most of them due to "pet damage" when I did not even have a pet). When I made an appointment to discuss the charges with the apartment manager, she pushed the date back a week from when I wanted to meet. Then I later was told not to come to the appointment because they had already turned the charges over to collections (not even a week after I received the statement). This was very shady. Then when I disputed the charges, the collections company would not listen to me that I was disputing the charges and said it would go on my credit report when legally they can't do that unless they also say it's under dispute. This was such a headache to deal with, it almost puts all the other problems I had living there down to a smaller relative size, and almost everything everyone else has said is true. There were people doing drugs and who knows what else in the fitness center, and I was met with a lack of concern when I reported the activity several times. They will charge you for carpet if it needs replacing, even due to normal wear and tear. They will do whatever they can to not give you back your deposit, even if you cleaned the place spotless before you leave.

I have had nothing but problems even before I moved in here. Something told me to terminate the contract before I moved in but my utilities and moving company had already been scheduled. I am still living here, my lease ends August 5th and I have worried with the lack of concern regarding the many, many other issues I've had here, that I would probably be up for a fight to get my deposit back. After reading all the other reviews here, I really am worried now. Everything I've read in them is so true! I've experienced the same madness. The management here is criminal and will frame you with violations and charges that are frivolious. I was charged $50 for a bag of trash that was put out that wasn't even my trash. When I asked for proof of how they think it was my trash, it took them almost a week, but they produced a piece of my mail. The trash wasn't mine so the only way they could have produced a piece of my trash was to go through my trash subsequent to that until they found something with my name on it and then claim it was in that bag of trash. How can you trust people like that to be fair and honest with you regarding anything? Now I am faced with, do I clean or not? Will they not only not give me my deposit back, but they may charge me if I don't clean. Do you really want to live in a place that makes you feel this way? I wished I had been wise enough to look for these reviews before I rented here. I saw many other nice complexes that I wished I had rented from instead. This place was close to work but will possibly end up be much more costly than a little bit of extra gas would have been. TAKE HEED.........KEEP MOVING, DON'T RENT AT OAK FOREST APARTMENTS IN LEWISVILLE TEXAS.........you'll regret it!
