I lived here for 7 months and I thank GOD for my apprehension to sign for longer. I had a minimum of 5 new roaches every morning and I HATED it. No matter what we did or how much they SAY they exterminated it, there was always an assortment of roaches and beetles dead everywhere. I felt like I couldn't eat anything. The walls and floors were so thin, the dumb girl from downstairs would come up all the time to tell us to be quiet and we were barely walking. The maintenance men were always very sweet and did good work, but the office staff was TERRIBLE after you "locked in" with a lease. I hated every day of living there and was SO happy when I left.

Usually roaches don't just appear. They have to be either brought to the apartment from a previous problem or are due to filth caused by you or a neighbor. It typically takes 6 weeks of treatments every other week to get rid of a persistant problem. Keeping in contact with your office staff will limit a lot of problems that you may have, inclucing a pest problem. Some other contributing factors are trash in breezeways and elsewhere and a problem apartment moving out and roaches seeking a new source. Often water bugs are mistaken to be roaches as well. As for the office staff, it's a shame that after you brought all of your issues to their attention they were still unable to help you. I have it on good faith that the new office staff would be more than happy to take care of all of your problems in a timely manner. Good luck with your new home.

Fortunately, I don't have a pest problem (other than office staff), but I share your sentiment regarding the office staff as "terrible after you 'locked in' with a lease." How I am counting the days until my lease is up. Meanwhile, I'm advising everyone I know to look elsewhere.
