I have lived at The Oaks of Lewisville for more than a year. Never late on rent, in fact I use to pay a month in advance, that is until I got a late notice on my door stating that I was 2 weeks late. When I called the office to question this, the woman was very rude and told me that her books said I was and that was that. After I gathered up all my old bank statments with cleared checks, they corrected their mistake, without apology.
Next incident was at my lease renewal, in which I gave a 60 day notice that I would sign another 7 month term. I recieved a statement for my monthly rent dues, and to my dismay they had charged my a "month to month" fee because I hadn't resigned. My lease hadn't even yet expire!
I scheduled maintence for my 2nd bathroom. It was stopped up and we weren't able to flush. The response I got was that it wasn't urgent because I had 2 bathrooms. 6 days later after the stench had taken over my appt, they finally fixed it when I made another maintence call, they had never recieved the first, hmmmm...
Be leary if you are to recieve an energy bill that seems higher than normal. My highest bill was $92 in the month of Augusts. That is until I received one for the month of Nov. It had nearly doubled! I question the bill with my energy company and they had me go read my meter numbers off to the rep. She told me that my meter showed an "open line". Meaning that energy was being taken from my meter (somehow) and used elsewhere. In my building, They were 2 units occupied out of 6 (there was a fire) I disputed the bill with the manager (it was her first day)Her reply was skeptical, but a co-worker said to her that this happens and she would fix it. How does this happen!'! How many other tennats are paying for an energy bill that may not be enitrely theres' The appt was "borrowing" my energy to put equity into the appartments that we effected by the fire. The credited $100 to my account.
When I told them I wasn't going to be renewing because of the not so pleasant experiences I had had. The new manager replyed "Well, that's fine by me". I suppose they don't value their tennants.
Theres more... but I think this says enough
