I moved into Bentwood in 2004 and was placed in Apartment# 162. In the very beggining and I am talking the 1st few weeks I didnt have any complaints. I saw the model apartment and it was pretty nice looking.I truely understand what the phrase dont judge a book by its cover means now. Two weeks after moving into my apartment it flooded. I was ill and got to come home to a flooded apartment after a very hard day at work. It was 3am. They didnt get there to clean the water mess up until 10 am and by then I had already soaked up most of the water with towels. It was a pipe in the bathroom wall that broke and they said they had fixed it. Let me assure you that it was not fixed because it broke 2 other times after that in the 3 year time span. Once while I was taking a shower and full of soap. The water was shut off. I called and had to go to the model apartment at the other end of the community. My neighbor at the time showed me that her apartment had a waterfall coming from the ceiling in the bathroom. And the last time was in December of 2006. I was ill and had to go to work. It was 8am and the water was off. I went to work 3 hrs late and still no shower. Talk about humiliating. I went to the office to speak with Beverly the assistant manager. She and the maintainence man argued with me. Then she walked away while I was talking to her and helped someone else. The maintainence man told me Celeste I have been working on trying to fix that pipe for 15 years and they havent been able to fix it! That is when horns went off in my head...This is how they treat tenents that pay their rent everytime ontime and actually take care of their apartment. My husband and I decided we were going to look around. In January 2007 my husband slipped and fell down 12 stairs which they were prewarned we could not safely access our apartment. It was covered in 2 inches of ice. I called in complete panic and reported the injury and we had to go to the ER and that I needed the steps cleared so we could access our apartment when we returned. Guess what 6 hrs later we returned to the rails covered in ice and steps still covered in ice. I had to clear the steps with a little car ice pick that is 5 inches long. I got into the apartment and got my husband comfortable. I then called the night answering service and demanded kellie call me back. She did and she also told me it was not their responsiblity and that the would not take care of the issue. She would be back on monday and would discuss the issue then. In March of 2007 there was a work request put in for a towel rod to be reinstalled that had pulled thru 2 years earlier and agreed to be done. We wanted it for our own use since we would be moving and had to remove ours since we were moving. We also wanted to make sure that we would be getting all of our deposit back. The maintainence man Ronald "speedy" Wright came over and said we would have to buy one or he would not install it. He had the one we gave back after it had pulled thru but he gave it away. I told him I wouldnt buy one and contacted the office. He returned with one 5 min later and put it up next to the door 3 feet from where it is suppost to be and completely crooked. I called and told the assistant manager what he did and she came over to look...I didnt want to be charged upon move out. He came with her and everything was fine she said. Then he barged thru the door and began screaming at me saying we should have left him alone that everything was fine. He was punching the wall and towel rack. He said I hated you stupid people since you moved in and I am glad that you are moving soon. The towel rack broke and he screamed louder look what you made me do now it is broken... he ripped it outta the wall and started shaking it at me backing me into the corner. My husband yelled at him and told him to get outta our home. The management did give us 2 months free rent and water for this incident and let us break our contract. And as for speedy he was fired and now works for the Enclave. I still had to paint everything back and didnt recieve any compensation for moving expenses which we would have never moved had we not felt unsafe in our apartment. But since our safety was compromised we had to move. These were the main major problems that we had the list continues as listed: A roof that blew off and was not fixed for 4 weeks only to blow off again and you can see where the shingles were replaced still. Sprinklers that shoot up in the air and block the walkway so you get soaked when walking on the sidewalk. pipes that are always breaking causing no water any unannouced time for anywhere from 5 min up to 9 hours. Slab leaks, a filthy pool that is never sparkling.Very thin floors and walls that make you hate your neighbor because you can hear everything and anything including just plain talking. 162 faces the road and the siding boards always blew off. We went back to check our meter and there was water coming from the wall by our meter like a pipe broke and the boards were gone again. Poor parking, car vandelized, a lot of dark areas. Management acts so nice until you sign the lease and put work requests in.There was always dog poop everywhere. Our air conditioner was always broke. When speedy came to repair the coil he told us that he knew it was bad but didnt want to have to replace it because it took so much time. After it was repaired my electric bill went from 90-120s to 68-90. I have asthma and never once had my apartment sprayed for bugs but after I gave notice I was moving they had it sprayed and I could not go into my apartment for 6 hours. There is a hole under the bathroom sink and I can smell tabbaco smoke from our neighbors apartment and see under her sink... How creepy to think that if our cabinets were open we could see each other. There was always lots of foot traffic and people begging for money and stalking you because 711 is right there. If you read the one marked beware they even accused me of writing a bad rating and it wasnt me. That is why I am posting this. I am also posting this because as a consumer I wish I would have known before everything that happened happened. I wasted 3 years at this place battling with them just to get the things they are suppost to take care of done.If this isnt enough for you to be convinced that you can do better then I guess you will have to learn the hard way. Because I now live at a new community and love it.

I just moved from Bentwood and I wish I would have saw this comment a year ago. The apartment I stayed in was very filthy upon moving in and I am sorry you had to deal with that for such a long time.
