My wife and I moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech graduate schools and found the Fountains to be very affordable. Once we moved in, the staff treated us very well. They were ALWAYS very responsive to our needs. Joe and Josh fixed every little problem the apartment had with haste. We were there for two years and if we could, would live there forever.
The only problem we had was with a persnickety shrew of a resident who was totally implacable. When she left (thank heavens she did) our lives were much nicer and our neighbors who took her place were wonderful.
The Fountains is pet-friendly, maybe a little too much because some residents take advantage of their policies; which reflects negatively on responsible pet owners. I guess there is no responsibility litmus test the staff can legally give would-be residents though, so I guess this last sentence is moot.
On the negative side, the apartments are a bit energy inefficient. Unless you're insulated by other apartments on either side (in other words, if you're on an end unit) your energy bills will be higher.
We enjoyed our time (2 years) in the Fountains and would recommend it to anyone.
