The apartmens are decent size for the money, but they are also pretty drab and unwelcoming. I've since come across other places that are nicer for less money. I suggest you look elsewhere - there are better places out there for the money.

Most of the time we had good luck with maintenance, but our dishwasher never worked right and that never got fixed. VERY frustrating. Would have rented elsewhere if we'd have known that we would not have a functioning dishwasher.

Management has changed three times in the past year or so. You might notice in the reviews that several years ago things were better. Things have gone from average to bad to worse with the new management.

You also may notice the very negative review posted earlier that mentioned a bad experience with the on-site officer. When I saw that post, I thought it sounded like the complaining of a spoiled college-kid, but just recently I had a very unsettling experience with the officer, too. I have the utmost respect for all police officers and the work they do, but since I see that this sort of incident has occurred at Lubbock Lakeway before, I think it is only fair to mention it to potential new renters.

On moving out, when I voiced my concern to management about several mistakes they had made concerning my rent and move-out date, the manager became very defensive (or aggresive I should say!) and the officer threatened to "throw me in jail" if I did not leave the office. Needless to say, I was taken aback and a little confused but I relate this story so that you know what you might be in for. All I can say is thank goodness we are moving.

Also, a very suspicious incident occured while we were trying to move out. The management did not sign the Intent to Move-Out legal form when they returned it to me. It's my own fault for not noticing, but it turns out that because I did not notice their mistake, I had no proof of having given notice a month before. The result: they insisted that we pay an extra month's rent on an empty apartment. (Not to mention having my integrity questioned and being intimidated by the abusive officer already mentioned.)

So, overall there are just too many fishy things going on here at Lubbock Lakeway. The management definitely seems shady and you just don't want to have to deal with that. aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb

I happen to know the police officer who lives at this complex and have personally seen him deal with on site issues. He has always been courteous when dealing with people and everyone I talk to seems to like him. Sounds to me like this person is just taking a cheap shot at the officer while trying to make himself look good. As far as management goes, they are a little stern at times but have always treated me fairly.
