I have been reading the things that are on here. Some of it true, some of it pure crap. Living at Lubbock Lakeway or anywhere has its ups and downs. Rules are rules, and enforced. There have been alot of different faces here at Lakeway. From the past managers, as one stated one of the past managers/owners was having an affair with an office worker, yeah thats true. He cheated on his wife with this office worker. He is a highly respectable business man, who should of 1. not committed adultry, 2, or conducted that affair on the property. Shame on him. The next manager Rita, didn't enforce the rules either. She had her favorites who got away with everything. Then there was a few other faces. Heck even one girl only worked for the company for a few days, and she was left in the office all by herself. I still see her every now and then. The previous manager who was here and then left had her favorites. She didn't make certain people follow the rules. No one paid late fees but a few people, maintenance has their favorites, and what the heck was the past manager thinking when she let the pool get green last year, and did you see all of the weeds consuming the lawns here at Lakeway' Not to mention you always seen her out front smoking cigarettes or her belly hanging out of her too tight clothes. SO much for professional. The girls in the office now are new yes, but everyone has to start off somewhere. They do have a supervisor that they have to report to daily, and their supervisor also comes to check on them. The owners are alerted with everything that is going on in the office and on the property. Those of you that posted things here that stated that the girl with the long hair lets her dog use the restroom on the grounds, and leaves the animal feces, how do you know its her dog' Do you stand there and watch her' IF you pay your rent late, your lease states that you are to be charged late fees. READ THE LEASE. If you have misplaced your lease, simply go to the office and they will provide you with a copy of the lease. If you are so childish to let something get you so upset then maybe you are just a child yourself. If you need something fixed in your apartment, write it yourself as Paragraph 26 of your lease states, it MUST BE IN WRITING SUBMITTED BY YOU. Simply make yourself a copy, and drop it in the office. If what ever needs to be fixed isn't fixed with in 7 days simply drop them a note in the office and remind them. Normally the rules state that things must be fixed in an "X" amount of time, and if its not there are consequences.
Who cares if one of the girls is related to one of the owners' Alot of businesses now days family members do work for the company, there isn't a big deal. Every time I am in the office or near the office, I feel happiness, and warmth in there. If the office is closed during the day, a few things could be happening. They could be showing an apartment, using the restroom ( they do have that freedom to do so) or they could be at a meeting for the Apartment Association. If you are so unhappy why do you post with not being known' Why don't you post a complaint at Lubbock Apartments.com. Where any complaints get forwarded directly to the owners of Lubbock Lakeway. If you are so unhappy, too bad that the previous manager let you get away with things, and now that she is gone, because she couldn't keep the place rented up, nor do her job. She felt that it was more important to do her NURSING SCHOOL homework, rather than make sure the rent is getting paid, or rules are being followed. She would always be outside smoking making the complex look really bad, and often argue with people. I remember when I moved in here I came to look at a 2 bedroom and she showed me a one bedroom model. Alot of help that did when I wanted a two bedroom, not a one. So much for knowing what she was doing, but no one complained, until she left, so could one of you that is complaining be one of her friends that is upset because of the circumstances behind why she really quit' Being in the apartment industry isn't as easy as it seems. ITs actually hard work. I actually work for another apartment complex, and yes i live here. I live here because I like it, and i require a bigger apartment than what my complex could give me, not to mention I have a dog, and my complex doesn't allow animals. Give the girls in the office a break. When they took over Lakeway it was a mess because of the previous managers. Now with the assistance of their supervisor, she is helping them get everything under control, and in better shape than what it was before. When the 4th lands on the weekend or a holiday, keep in mind that on the morning of the 4th the rent checks will be picked up off of the floor and late notices sent out on the 4th. They do not loose the rent checks. This is the normal policy of most complexes that are multifamily. At my complex, if rent isn't received by the time the office closes on the 1st it is considered late, regardless. ITs the residents that throw a fit over late fees, when they are the ones that are wrong. Too bad there weren't cameras to catch those of you who lie about when you pay your rent. Besides why pay your rent on a saturday or sunday, unless your every intention was to pay late and try to weasel your way out of paying late fees, or dating your check for the 1st or 2nd. At my complex there is a camera by the drop slot, so residents can't weasel their way out of paying rent on time, regardless of the date on the check. Plain and simple. If you are so unhappy because they charged you late fees, maybe you ought to go and live somewhere else that rules aren't enforced. If you are so unhappy that for once rules are being strictly enforced, and this apartment complex is being cleaned up, then Lubbock Lakeway isn't for you to live at. I do agree, the girls in the office still have alot to learn, as I stated before being in this industry isn't as easy as it seems to be. I have been in the business for 10 years trust me I know. Thats all I have to say about this. Lubbock Lakeway is a great place to live. Its now in good hands, and I know that they will succeed. I see them shining bright. They may make mistakes, but they are human, everyone does. Now for bad stuff. The parking lot does need more lighting, we need a courtesy officer that patrols the parking lots at night to stop cars from being broken into, or windows smashed out. There needs to be play equipment for the children to play on, and maybe they wont be out playing in the trees, or in the parking lot. There needs to be a place where we can take our dogs and let them run, and posts through out the complex that hold doggy poop bags, with bins where the poop bags can be placed. As there is alot of dog feces around the complex. I see all shapes and sizes. THe flower bed on the corner needs to have the wild grass removed. It looks tacky, and you cant see the flowers. The parking lots need to be re done. The gate to the swimming pool needs to be more secure, as a small child can open the gate, and fall in the swimming pool. The swimming pool rules need to be enforced. Just yesterday there were alot of kids under the age of 14 in the swimming pool and there wasn't an adult with them. THere were two ladies there that had children and a baby, then One lady came with two young boys, and she was told that she couldn't have her dog in the pool, and she wasn't too happy. Then there was another lady that the one girl that I have seen working in the office on a few occasions, was showing things in the pool area, and showing her the rules that are posted I was wondering if she was an owner or the supervisor. I see alot of changes happening at Lubbock Lakeway and its for the better it just takes time. The buildings need more lighting as well. With more lights on the buildings the parking lot will be more brighter at night.
People just need to realize that when things go wrong in any place that is a business and there is a change, if they do not like the change they dont have to deal with it. What I mean is you do not have to deal with the office personell on a daily basis. Pay your rent when you are supposed to, obey and follow all the rules, and make sure your guests and other residents that live with you follow all of the rules, and pay your rent and your water bill like you are supposed to, and don't pay attention to what goes on in the office, unless it directly affects you. If you think that they are going to loose your rent check, simply pay your rent during buiness hours and ask them to give you a receipt then you do not have to worry about it being lost, which I know that the rent checks aren't lost, because they are taken care of. Plain and Simple.
