No problems here - Past resident

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

Moved into a 2 bedroom 1 bath in January 2007 and moved out when I graduated from Tech end of June 2008.
The landscaping is minimal, but hey it's lubbock. What was there was kept nice and clean. The outside appearance is kind of lacking, but it's not bad at all. I loved my apartment! If only I could get this same apartment in Houston, layout and everything. The kitchen appliances were old, but still worked. The kitchen itself was cute, great U-shaped layout so no wasted space, plenty of storage, and a nice white with a window which was great. The seperate dining area was a nice touch and used the space in the apartment really well. Living room was decently large. The windows were old and hard to keep clean (lubbock dust) but I had nice curtains so I didn't care. We got to choose 1 update (new stove top, nicer wood blinds, or an electric thermostat). I chose the electric thermostat. Was installed while on Spring Break, worked great! I loved the fake wood floors. I have wood floors now which I love, I hate carpeting, so for a student apartment this place was great.
The bedrooms - I used one as my bedroom and the other really small tiny bedroom as the office. My bedroom was fine, suitable size. All i had in there was a queen sized bed and a nightstand so I had plenty of room. Nice large closet and lots of storage throughout apartment so that was never an issue. The bathroom was clean, newish and cute. The small 2nd bedroom would be a reeeeeally tiny bedroom, but fit a good sized desk, bookshelf, and loveseat easily. The 2nd bathroom (the full bath) was a nice size, newish, same as the first. While on vacation there was a leak in the apartment upstairs which created a bubble and problems in my ceiling above the showerhead in the full bath. I reported it, the person told me it wasn't my leak it was the leak in the upstairs apartment and said they would fix it. I am assuming they fixed the leak because no water ever ran down or bubbling happened after that, but they never came back into my apartment to fix the water stain or lost ceiling paint. I never had a hole in my ceiling or anything it just wasn't that ascetically pleasing. I didn't care all that much because I never filed another maintenance order.
I never had any other maintenance issue, but I always saw them around the grounds and working so they seem like their work hard and do a good job. Another thing I loved about the apartment was they have exterminators come and spray every other month or so on a schedule. They would put a flier in my door about a week before to notify of the date and time they exterminator guy would come.
It's Lubbock so there was bug issues. No bugs could be seen anywhere then about the week before the exterminator would come I'd spot a cockroach or a daddy long legs or something like that. Wasn't an infestation in the least. If you complain about stuff like that you are delusional.
I kept my apartment really clean and I never had parties there (too small for parties). A few times I had to pay a late fee because I'd forget to give my rent the Friday before or little things like that. I knew I signed a lease and that I'd have to pay a late fee, I did every time. I was never felt disrespected or slighted or anything by office staff. I only went into the office probably 6 times while I lived there and each time seemed like a different girl was in there. I was upfront, polite, knew what I was talking about so I was treated well.
For awhile a police officer lived above me so that worked out well. While I lived there I remember some cars getting broken into. Maybe 1 or 2. I was never a victim or felt unsafe. Once/twice I had to walk to my neighbors in the middle of the morning to complain about the noise coming from their apartment party. They weren't college students either. And a few times I wanted to knock the heck out of some of the residents kids, but I think the family of the children that were running around like crazy got evicted or something. The complex was a mix when I lived there. Some college students, some older people, some couples, some families, and some families in a two bedroom with 5 children. And some of these kids would run around knocking on doors then running off. I did that too as a kid. But I didn't get chalk and write curse words and f*ck off b*tch on random strangers doors (was on a neighbors door - he was certainly surprised). There would sometimes be messages written on the sidewalks in the same chalk stating graphic descriptions of sex acts done by what I am guessing was a 12 year old to one of the other little kids there. Let me just say I was greatly disturbed. About the next week I never again saw any "graffiti" or those kids so the complex cleaned up. the chalk markings were always swiftly cleaned away. (I had a dog so I would walk her late at night and I'd be up to walk her and get to class early early in the morning so I saw all that stuff).
When I put my notice in to move out, and in the process of moving out never had any bad experiences with staff or lost paperwork. They sent me my deposit back minus 20bucks or so they claimed as "general cleaning." I am very clean and quiet but I never get a deposit back! So i was really happy they didnt rip me off on that like many other places do.
Long wandering description.
Great location, cheap, nice apartments. A- would live there again
