The -------------- at this place are the worst in town, hands down; I have been searching for apartments for a while now and have been to about 10 places -- none have been this rude at any other place. They are not only rude and unaccommodating to your concerns/needs, they act as if they do not want you to lease with them at all. Which is exactly what they accomplished with me. The apartments are great, truly some of the most appealing in town for the price range. Unfortunately, I have to reiterate here: the staff is horrible. All I ask when I visit an apartment complex is for the staff to not be rude or unwelcoming, and to respect their prospective tenants and their legitimate concerns. I received no such treatment here. The ------ lady, ------, at Summer Place is extremely rude and unconcerned with the people who pay her salary (i.e. the tenants). I will not be leasing from this place and recommend that, until they get better agents/staff/management, you stay away as well. Such a shame since the apartments are nice.

Since the staff apparently reads these, please take this advice to heart. You do not have to be so rude and disrespectful towards people to do your job -- in fact, part of your job should be to be polite and respectful. I have to wonder what makes you think you can act like that and still get business. To the owner, you may want to consider getting new agents if the current ones cannot improve -- not a hard thing to do around here with Texas Tech just down the street.

Also, I rated it overall as a 1 star, since it's hard to really look past the bad attitudes of the staff.

Hello. I would personally like to address the review above. It seems the person who wrote this review needs to speak with the owners and myself so we can address the issue they have with me. I take pride in my job and I have a sense of integrity and character when it comes to my job, our residents, my family and my friends. If I did something rude to offend you then I invite you personally to contact the owners and inform them of the issue you are speaking of. The owners happen to be in the office all week long. You seem to think this is serious enough to have them re-think their decision in hiring me. If you are honestly that concerned, I invite you to step up, state your real name and lets schedule a meeting with the owners to straighten this matter out. I believe the residents respect me and trust that I will take care of their needs as best I can. I do my job and I uphold the rules that the owners expect of me and am always striving to do better. We have a large percentage of tenants who have lived at our property for many years. We also have several residence who have moved back after leaving Lubbock and then who have returned. Once again, I stress to the writer of the review to please contact the owners so that we can schedule a meeting to address your personal problem with whatever you say I did to offend you. You obviously feel strongly about this, and I am willing to do whatever you think needs to be done. If you seriously think I should be terminated, I urge you to contact us imediatly. I replied to this once, but I do not think it went through. I only feel it right, to defend our property, and because I strive to be a good person, if I owe you an apology, I would like to know who you are, so that I may address this in the appropriate manner. I applaud the office worker who wrote the response. Everytime Apt Ratings posts a review, I receive an email pertaining to it, because I used them at one time. The person complaining must have an awful lot of time on their hands to visit ten different complexes and write reviews I assume, of each one. I assume none were to their liking, seeing as though they went through ten before hitting summerplace. I live at Summerplace and the girls and new maintenance men do a very good job considering all that they do have to do. I think the person who wrote the review did it anonymously, because they are just making up a false review. Otherwise, why wouldn't they use their name. Kind of tips you off. Why am I writing this review. Well, because I like living here, the staff is pleasant and the price is wonderful. I've lived here two different times. I feel very safe and at home. The ----- in the office are just doing their job. They are people too. So, I advise any others looking for an apartment, not to take the anonymous reviews too seriously. I have had two different neighbors leave without fullfilling their leases. They were trouble-makers. It wouldn't surprise me if this was one of those -----. Or perhaps the old maintenance team, which were worthless. Sincerely --------

They need to fire ----- and I think summer place would be getting better reviews. Summer place has really nice apartment units, you just have to get over ----- being the rudest leasing agent. After dealing with her and her attitude, it made it very easy for me to go across the street to summertime villa.

The first week I showed interest in these apartments, I payed several visits to the ------ in the office to organize viewings/paper signings and EVERY time I walked in, they didnt know who i was or what i was there for. What a way to treat a potential client! ----- was rude when I asked to view more than one apartments and replaied with an "I guess." I still decided to live here, because the apartments are great, but the staff has consistently been horrible. I recently have tried to pay a pet fee to the ------ in the office. Every time I attempt to take them my check, they are not in the office, sometimes not for hours....what EXACTLY are they being payed for? Then, after leaving several messages that I had been attempting to pay, ----- calls and informs me that i will be charged late fees even though I had tried for 3 DAYS to pay her and neither her, or ------ were in the office!!! To say the least, I had to deal with her attitude, and eventually she waved the late fees because I pointed out the poor management skills that are being displayed. I hope that both of the ------ in the office read this and see what kind of frustration they cause by being rude and unorganized. GET IT TOGETHER ------! I would love to take the invitation displayed above to contact the owner and "boss" because I feel that if I'm paying my hard earned money to live here, the staff should be nice also.

I don't know what the above person is talking about. There is a drop box for anyone who wants to make apayment afterhours or when the office is closed. I suspect since it is anonymous it is from someone who was late and simply trying to get out of the late fees.I have never had a problem with the office staff(I also have never been late)and have found ----- plesant and accomidating-the apartments are great and the price is good too.-Jess

FYI - Some of us have experienced our payments getting "lost" that we have slipped into drop boxes, and do not feel comfortable putting our money there. I can concur that these ----- are hardly ever there, and wonder myself what exactly they do all day. They certainly never answer the phones! And I've asked for contact information of the owner, and was told that they would have her call me. I never got a call. Also, people have the right to post anonymously, and just because they do so does not mean they are lying. From my first hand experience, I would guess that anyone who has anything good to say about the management of Summer Place is either one of the management people at Summer Place or some type of family or personal friend of them that they might think twice about being rude to like they are to the rest of the people who enter the doors or call the office phone.
