I just want to start off by saying that I understand that Lubbock is a college town. I understand that most apartments in Lubbock will be filled with college students. So I had extremely low expectations of how the apartments would be. But, the Reserve fell horrifically low to these expectations. DO NOT EVER LIVE AT THE RESERVE OFF FRANKFORD!!!

Here are NINE great reasons not to live in this dump!!

1. Price: BIG RED FLAG!!! These are the cheapest apartments in Lubbock. This should tell you something, right away. These apartments are $100 a month cheaper than any other apartments. BIG RED FLAG!!!

2. 24-hour maintenance: WHAT A JOKE!!! Put in a report and the fastest time I heard was a week. It took them 3 weeks to come check out my dyer. When they did come, they fixed my dyer so that now it would dry clothes. But, now it makes a horrible grinding noise that I can barely here my TV over. I went back to ask them to fix it, they said it will take about the same amount of time. They claim that they handle it as fast as possible and have people working 24 hours. Hmmmm, guess there is only one maintenance man, or they are extremely understaffed. Either way, it never got taken care of until one month later.

3. Crime: My time there I saw two domestic disturbances. Wow that chick can take a punch. Seen piles of broken glass from the smashed windows of cars. I am pretty sure the people next to me are drug-dealers. People come in and out all day everyday, and the dank smell of marijuana fills the air. These are my personal experiences. Other people have told me far worst, read other stories from people on this site. They all seem true especially after what I experienced.

4. Exercise Room: This room is the size of my bathroom and bedroom combined. It consists of a treadmill, an elliptical, a couple of weights, and a chest fly. Oh yeah, it has a tanning room but it has been broken since I moved in.

5. Show apartment: BIG RED FLAG!!! The show apartment is in the Main Office. They won t show you an actual apartment within the complex. Hmmm, why is this' Could it be that they are hiding something' Yep. That is exactly why. Most apartments have stains in the carpet, marks on the wall, holes in the wall, or something with minimal inspection is found broken. In my apartment, the shower didn t get hot, the sink leaked, and two outlets were defective. I found these all within 6 hours of moving into this dump.

6. Management: At first I figured maybe a college student is the owner. Since, nothing got fixed on time, the parking lot is always trashed, the maintenance man looked like an ex-felon, and the main office was filled with slackers. Turn out that the owner isn t in college and probably never even went. The owner looks like honestly a crack head . I would tell you his name but I shall not because of the rules at this site. If you go there and ask to speak to the owner you ll see what I mean.

7. The Shuttle: WHAT A JOKE!!! It can take around an hour to get where you need to be on campus if you take this shuttle. It s not even allowed on the Texas Tech grounds so it drops you off by the stadium. From there you take another bus to reach your destination. But, that s when it works. Just like everything else at the Reserve the shuttle also breaks down. One time the bus broke down mid-day. If you were lucky enough to have late classes you can just stay home or try to catch a ride. But for the people that took the bus that morning, hopefully someone can come pick you up. If not, guess you can just sleep in the library cause you are now officially stranded. I ask the front office about this and their reply was the bus is more like a convenience not a guarantee .

8. Parking: During the game where Texas Tech stomped out UT. My friends called to tell me that a cop is not letting them on the property! This cop is standing there telling everyone who doesn t have a Reserve sticker that they are not allowed on the property. This is outrageous, I asked why not. His response to insure that people who live there can have a place to park. Seriously. No my friends, this is called inadequate parking . After that every home game had the same events take place. Some cop stands outside and tells everyone who doesn t have a sticker that they aren t allowed on the property. OUTRAGEOUS!!!

9. Noise: Apart from the normal screaming and yelling associated with most college apartments, here I can hear everything my upstairs neighbor is doing even in the bathroom. From flushing the toilet, to turning on the shower. I can hear every step they make in the living room, though my paper thin ceiling. In my room I can hear them talking. I know when they are washing dishes, cause roar of the dishwasher sounds easily penetrates the paper thin walls.

These reasons are just the main reasons why I left this atrocity called The Reserve. Seriously, stay in the dorms, live in your car, pay a little more and stay some where decent, or get a house. DON T EVER STAY AT THE RESERVE OFF FRANKFORD!!!

In your statement, "But, now it makes a horrible grinding noise that I can barely here my TV over." The word probably should have been 'hear'.

How is your spelling correction at all relevant? The living conditions at the Reserve will never improve so long as management and the main office workers continue to exude zero work ethic.
