Not worth it

I lived in Fountains since it opened in 2005. I loved that it was so close to campus and the bus stop was also very convenient. Besides that, I would not recommend it to anyone. It is "nicer" than some of the surrounding apartments, but it is not worth the money.
When I first moved in, I had broken glass and mold all over my apartment which they did not clean up for days. They take good care of the landscaping. The management is awful and has changed several times over the past few years. There have been several occasions when the staff told me one thing, then told my roomate a completely different answer. Some staff members are very nice, but the majority are rude and clueless. They claimed that I never paid my rent (when I did) on several occasions. They also changed the locks on my apartment door on a Saturday night (Sunday was the "move in" day for new residents) without giving me any notice, and I had to wait until Sunday morning to get back into my apartment.
Also, the walls are paper thin. I could hear everything my neighbors said (although this is to be expected when living in an apartment). It is also very noisy and don't expect never to go to sleep without hearing every drunk sorority girl/frat guy screaming and yelling (also to be expected in a college apartment complex). The apartments look "nice" but at closer inspection, you would be amazed at how poorly they were constructed. They are "ok" compared to some surrounding apartments, but it is not worth how much they are asking for in rent. I would advise you move into a complex farther from campus and get a parking pass.

I agree with your statement that management is AWFUL and has changed so many times I've lost count. Office staff is total chaos, just drop in the office anytime. Now, worst of all, University Fountains management decided not to renew their contract with Citibus for the 2008-2009 school year, which leaves tenants stranded with no bus service and a wait list for campus parking passes. What were they thinking, and when were they going to tell the tenants/students? They better remove "bus service" from their list of amenities quickly since that is a lie and false statement, which they are used to delivering. UF has NO communication with their tenants, their website stinks and is useless, and most of what they "promise" or list as an amentity is weak. Before you sign a contract, just go to the office and see what kind of attention you get. Then, trying having a repair made, your carpets cleaned, or getting the same answers more than once. The only positive is their location and the grounds are clean, most of the time.

I dont agree with that statement at all!!!!!!!!!! You just dont cheak up on things that is why you dont know wha is going on..... I think that you need to keep your trap shut and learn how to grow up... looks like you are just a cry baby and your parents just do everything for you.... I think fountains is a place where i could live for my next 2 yrs of school... i would advise everyone to live here....
