My husband and I moved into Camden Place 4 months ago and as of today are OUT OF THERE!!! When we first viewed this community, the office staff hyped it up like it was the happening place to be in Mesquite. They did a good job because we bit their line. Of course, I should've known, if you're a fish, you should never trust a fisherman!! I didn't do any of my own research. That was my bad. My hope is that anyone reading this will take my advice and not fall into this trap.

In the first 2 weeks, we had maintenance out every single day!!! Things varied from the lock on the sliding glass door (which are pieces of crap. Very old and very hard to slide) to a drawer in the kitchen that needed a new track because my silverware kept falling to the floor, to ROACHES. Every day, they told me that they fixed the problem (whatever it was that day) but it never was. Maintenance here does a half-@$$ job every single time. Mary, the manager, once had the audacity to ask me if we moved with these bugs. I wasn't at all in the mood to play that game with her. Mary tries to mask everything. She acts like nothing is ever wrong, everything can be fixed and nothing is their fault. I read a previous entry from someone back in April and they said that their conversation with Mary was that nothing is wrong with Camden Place and she doesn't agree with these entries. Yes, I believe that because that's exactly the kind of person she is. I'm trying to let everyone out there know that she is a major con-artist in the real-estate field.

Without writing a novel (which is what I've composed for Corporate), we've had to have the police knock our door down because we asked the office to fix our lock on the back door and they said that they weren't doing anything illegal if 2 of the 3 locks were operable. So we were outside one night and the door locked on us and our deadbolt on the front door was locked. The came the next day to fix the lock on the front door, but left the wall in shambles. Then, we had a leak in the bathroom (on the first floor) and they stopped the leak but left the ceiling hanging down and damaged. I guess they think I want to live in the ghetto or something!

Let's talk about the bugs. Every week they sprayed (or at least they say they did) but to no avail.... There was an infestation and they said there was nothing they could do about it. If you don't like roaches, you won't like this apartment. By the way, the WILL tell you that there isn't a problem.

My upstairs neighbor, at least once a week, no earlier than 11pm, would yell at her boyfriend and throw his stuff out of the front door and down the stairs while their kid ran up and down the stairs crying from the top of his lungs for his daddy. It never lasted for less than 1-2 hours.

I've got SO MANY more situations I could tell you about, but I'll just wrap it up with please don't do this!! There are so many better places to call home. We are leaving our lease early with a penalty. They are making us pay for an extra month. I will be fighting for that back, including my deposit and I may even go for headache and sympathy reimbursment. I haven't decided yet.

Loud music, yelling neighbors, ROACHES, bare faced lying staff, nasty, unkept grounds, theft, rape, screaming kids, violence, gangs, drive-by's and no safety is what you will be dealing with if you move in here. My husband and I have doubled our rent now to move in somewhere we know will not try to screw us every single day just for a peace of mind that Camden Place has scarred.
